We have visited similar communities and toured their ice-skating facilities, recreation centers, and reviewed their after-school programs. We have also solicited input from both the private fitness industry, as well as the non-profit community. We have meet with City and County officials and investigated various partnership and organizational structures. Our goal is to build a "YMCA-like" facility and we are currently exploring joining this group. We have just been awarded a twenty thousand dollar ($ 20,000) grant to garner further input (survey) from our community regarding desired components of the center. We are currently seeking a location near the center of town so that we can create site-specific excitement and support while also providing synergy and economic benefits for our downtown business district.
