It's time for board elections! Elections take place on January 12, 2026 and we need YOU to get involved. Visit the SRG webpage for more information about positions and requirements.
The next board meeting is Monday, November 10 from 5:30-6:30pm at the SRG and it is a great time to meet the current board, ask questions, and decide how you can be involved in setting the vision of the gym moving forward. See you there!

There are a few sections of climbing wall that were dropped off on the SRG deck this week. If you left them there please come and take them back. The SRG loves community engagement, but we have limited space and can't use this type of donation.
If you didn't drop them off but want them - come and grab them this week (they have not been assessed by SRG volunteers and we do not make any claims about their safety)

Looking to take your sending skills from the SRG to the rock? Registration for Rock School with the Spokane Mountaineers opens this Friday. You must be a club member to sign up - link to the membership page is in the comments.
Spring is such a wonderful time to be a Spokane Mountaineer, especially for those who are wanting to get out on some rock. And if you've decided this is your year to learn how to rock climb, we couldn't agree more! This is your heads up that the 2024 Rock School application will be going live on the website this Friday, March 1st!
Rock School is an introductory course that teaches the basics of outdoor rock climbing on top rope. Students will learn climbing techniques, how to belay and rappel, as well as get an introduction to building anchors. Course dates include one indoor session (4/17) and two full weekends of outdoor skills (4/20-21 and 4/27-28). Participants to all of our classes must be current members of the Spokane Mountaineers -- and if you aren't already, now's a great time to join us!

Hi Sandpoint area climbers! The Sandpoint Rock Gym has some upcoming volunteer opportunities to join the board. There are a few positions open. As a volunteer run gym and non-profits it's so important to have community input and involvement. See more about the opportunities below, currently we are looking for a route setter, facilities manager, secretary/treasurer and a voting member.

Applications for Mountain School with the Spokane Mountaineers open tomorrow.
If you are looking for a great opportunity to learn technical skills in a fun, community environment, this is your chance!
Unfamiliar with the Spokane Mountaineers? Check out their website - they have all sorts of ways to get involved outside, including backcountry skiing, rock climbing, and backpacking.
Applications for our 2024 Mountain School will be opening TOMORROW (Wednesday, November 29th) at 6pm! Our 14-week course teaches an introduction to general mountaineering including snow/glacier travel, crevasse rescue, basic rock climbing, navigation, and trip planning. It will begin in late February and run through Memorial Day weekend when students will complete their graduation climb in Canada. Space is limited, and you must be a member to participate.

Join us for the SRG Annual Clean Up - Thursday, October 26, 2023 starting at 5:00pm.
We always get people who ask how they can help at the SRG - please join us to get the gym all cleaned up as we head into a busy winter season!
Interested in joining the SRG board? Come see us at the clean up and learn how you can get involved. Elections are in November and multiple positions are up for grabs.
Join a crew of volunteers to give Laclede some love! Meet at the east pullout at 4pm on Sunday, September 24 for a few hours. Sign up in the SRG or just show up. If you have a favorite trail tool (no chainsaws), bring it along!
Looking to take your climbing skills outside? Applications for the (limited spaces in) Spokane Mountaineers Rock School opens on March 5. It's a fantastic program run by dedicated volunteers.
