Shin splits suck try these techniques to get some relief. Preparation: Sit comfortably with your leg extended in front of you. Make sure the massage stick is within reach. Starting Position: Just like in the video your roll over the meaty part of the shin. Hold the massage stick horizontally with both hands, placing it against your shin. Start just below the knee, where the pain is often concentrated. Rolling Technique: Apply gentle pressure and slowly roll the stick down your shin, towards your ankle. Focus on the area where you feel discomfort. Roll back and forth in a controlled manner, covering the entire length of your shin. Pressure: Adjust the pressure according to your comfort level. It should be firm enough to feel a slight discomfort, but not so intense that it causes intense pain if it is intense go lighter and take breaks as needed. It will feel better when you are done rolling. Duration: Spend about 1-2 minutes rolling along your shin, or as needed. You can focus on those areas for a bit longer if you feel any particularly tightness or tender spots. Frequency: Repeat this massage technique 2-3 times daily or as needed, especially after physical activity. If your shin splits keep recurring even after adequate recovery it might be a good idea to check into new footwear or go to a place that can check out your running form.
