Happy birthday to our founder and Grandmaster, Romero ‘Jacaré’ Cavalcanti Romero Jacare Cavalcanti 🦅🎂🎉❤️

We love you and miss you here in Atlanta!

For those who don’t know, do yourselves a favor and Google his incredible story on how he founded Alliance Jiu Jitsu team alongside his first two black belts, Alexandre ‘Gigi’ Paiva and Fabio Gurgel. He also opened this school in Atlanta in 1996 at the original Prado in Sandy Springs, and 30 years later we are still here. What a legacy we are lucky to have.

Drop a comment below and wish our founder a happy birthday!👇🎉

Takedowns, guard work, and a whole lot of heart.

That group cheer says it all. 🤍

discipline isn't something you have before you start.

it's something the mats teach you, rep by rep.

nobody walks in with it. they walk in, show up again, and again — and one day it's just who they are.

that's the real black belt journey nobody talks about.

come build yours with us in Sandy Springs. 🥋

when jiu jitsu stops being a hobby:

you stop counting classes and start counting years.

you stop making excuses to skip and start making room in your week.

you stop asking about belt ranks and start asking what you need to learn.

I used to train alone.
Now I've got a whole mat family. 🤝🥋

The circle is simple:
two athletes step in, one mission - get better.

Guard passes.
Leg locks.
Scrambles that test every ounce of patience you've built.

No trash talk. No egos.
Just two people pushing each other toward something sharper than they were five minutes ago.

Then the round ends, hands meet, and you both walk away a little more dangerous than before.

That's the whole game. That's Jiu Jitsu.
