Please Share. Good Morning Anglers! The Sanford Lake Catfish Derby is up for adoption. I enjoyed hosting this event over the years but it is time for a new organization, individual or business to take the helm. Great sponsors are in place along with a strong local following. You will need a boat launch available, shelter, and parking. I did a cut off at 125 anglers. The event supports itself. Give it some thought and private message me if you're interested. With a lot of thought, I have decided to cancel the Sanford Lake Catfish Derby for 2017. Our family is just to busy this summer to make this happen. I would like to thank all the people that have helped in the past and all my sponsors that have supported this event. If you organization would possibly like to take over the event, feel free to contact me. I have just a few anglers that have paid and you will recieve you entry fee back. Good fishing everyone and thanks for your participation and support.

The Sanford Lake Catfish Derby is on fire this year! I can't wait till tomorrow to see everyone's smiling face. I had a question from a "newbie" "is it cancelled if its raining?" Heck NO! This is fishing! Rain or shine, if you're signed up, be here by 9 for check in. I have your t shirts waiting.

Bald Brad is ready to make us some awesome BBQ Chicken and Cletus is on the Koegel Hot Dog Breakfast and Fred our VP is, well..... Fred. I have a great bunch of Volunteers that help every year to make this happen. Be sure to thank them. Our Sponsors really brought it this year. Our two big Outfitters Jay's and Cabela's donated a combined 450.00 in door prizes. Our local business owners donated lots of door prizes and gift certificates as well. Garber Chevrolet sponsors to largest catfish winner or "Catfish King or Queen" for the year. 150.00 to the largest catfish, 75.00 to second place and 25.00 for third.

The Catfish weigh in is at the Verity Shores Boat launch at 4:00 PM sharp tomorrow. Feel free to stop in and see the fun.
