We are doing another UCI micro-internship which is an opportunity for 3 Interns to support Torques Games with possible employment opportunities for this Summer. Torques Games is a brand-new racquet sport and a suite of fun lawn & toss games. All games use a large Badminton Birdie or Shuttlecock that starts with a Toss and takes off with a Racquet! We are looking for Athletic students with Racquet Skills to serve as Torques Games Coach Ambassadors, helping people learn and play various games with a focus on fun with skill acquisition and development. We score games using the Torques App and Coach Ambassadors need to have an iPhone and download the Torques App and set up an account. This is on-site Internship and Applicants need to be available for various play sessions and pop-up events. Internship link is in our bio. You can DM us questions as well. Thanks

It’s finally a Friday and finals are over, hopefully 🙏 We are back today at 3pm to come play Torques and unwind. We have some Torques fun for everyone in the beautiful setting of Middle Earth, so come play in nature on Pelennor Field and get your feet on the grass. It’s time to take a swing at something new

Just spent an incredible evening yesterday at UC Irvine’s Student AI Demo Day, and I am genuinely inspired. We are also playing Torques tomorrow on Campus at Middle Earth Pelennor Field.
Back to Demo Day: Walking through the presentations, I was struck not just by the technical ambition on display, but by the profound sense of purpose and passion these students brought to the table. They aren’t just learning AI—they’re already applying it to solve real, meaningful problems.
From applications addressing accessibility and mental health to tools reimagining education, environmental monitoring, and creative expression, the breadth of ideas was astounding. What stood out most was the thoughtful consideration behind each project: a clear focus on human-centric design, ethical implementation, and tangible impact.
To all the students who presented today: thank you for sharing your vision and hard work. Your enthusiasm is infectious, and your fresh perspectives are exactly what the tech ecosystem needs. The future of AI is in thoughtful, creative hands.
A huge congratulations Ryan Foland and Chi Rey from the ANTrepreneur Center and the faculty at UCI who foster this kind of innovation. Days like today are a powerful reminder that the next wave of transformative ideas is brewing right here on campus.
