We’re on for Thursday. October 8, 6 to 8 PM.

A couple of pairs are already coming, and I’d love to round out the table with a few more.

This one works best as a proper gathering. We all sit at one table and make a single painting together, everyone adding to the design and building off the marks that came before. Someone’s shape becomes someone else’s starting point. At the end we cut it apart and everyone takes home a piece of the whole.
The art is the reason we’re in the room. The people are the point.

No experience needed, ever. Grab a friend and you’ll both pay $65.

There’s something that happens when people sit down at the same table and make something together.

Everyone works on the same surface. You add to the design, build off the marks that came before, and move around the table as it grows. Someone’s shape becomes someone else’s starting point. By the end it’s a piece none of us could have made alone,

Then we cut it apart, and everyone takes home a section of the whole thing.

No experience needed. Simple materials, gentle guidance, and no wrong way to do any of it.

I’ve been slowly building this new series, and it’s finally starting to feel like it’s finding its shape.

There are lots of underlayers in these panels, along with loose charcoal sketches and a softer, quieter palette than I usually work with.

It’s still unnamed, but I’m excited to share more as it unfolds. Stay tuned for the details.

Our next Monthly Creative Workshop is Thursday, September 10, 6 to 8 PM, and this one’s a little unique.

Instead of everyone working on their own, the whole group works on a single shared surface. We draw, paint, and layer, moving around the table so everyone’s marks end up in everyone’s work. It builds slowly into something none of us could have made alone.

And then, at the end, we cut it apart. Everyone goes home with a section of the whole thing.
One communal piece of art, all of us creating together. One painting shaped by many hands, where everyone takes a piece home.

All experience levels welcome, always. Whether you create all the time or have never thought of yourself as artistic, you belong at this table. Simple materials, gentle guidance, good music and a lighthearted room.

The beginning of a new painting—where the energy feels raw and full of possibility. I love the movement in the underlayers: expressive brushstrokes, drips, splashes, and fragments of writing that may or may not remain as the work evolves.

Sometimes the early marks offer a glimpse of what the painting could become; other times, unexpected compositions emerge simply by cropping and looking more closely. I’m excited to see where this larger canvas takes me.
