Dear Parents, Coaches & Players,
I write today to let you know that the North Valley Boys’ Baseball League will no longer continue to operate. There are several factors that have led to this decision, the main one being that my wife and I are moving our family to Orange County to become the Senior Pastor of the Liberty Baptist Church in Newport Beach, California. At this time, it has been determined that our church ministry here in Santa Clara cannot commit to continuing this sports league for the community. Although the baseball season is still months away, we wanted to give all of the families involved as much notice as possible.
It has been such a joy to have a part in establishing the NVBBL in 2010 and watch it expand and flourish over the past six seasons. I learned much, made many friends, and will cherish the memories that we made together out on the fields. What we accomplished together, impacting the lives of hundreds of children, is truly one of the highlights of my life and something that I will carry with me. I am indebted to our pastor, Jack Trieber, for allowing us to start this league and investing so much in manpower and money to make it possible. There is no way that we could have done it without him. All of our families have been the beneficiaries of his desire to be a blessing to the people of Santa Clara.
Although our church will no longer offer this baseball league, we want you to know that we are here to help you and your family in any way that we can. It has been our privilege to serve this area for 40 years, and our church family would be honored to serve you in the future. Please know that you have a church here in Santa Clara that cares for you!
On a personal note, thank you for your kindness and support to me through the years. You made my work with the league so rewarding. I will definitely miss it! If your family is ever passing through the Disneyland area, I hope that you will look us up so that we can grab a bite to eat or welcome you to a church service at our new church.
As I type this note, I am reminded of a Dr. Seuss quote, “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” That is what I will do.
We wish you all the best as your boys continue to grow. May God bless each of you.
Your friend,
Ryan Thompson
League Director

Today was an exciting Championship Saturday at the fields. Huge crowds, great baseball, awards ceremonies, and lots of family fun!
A special congratulations to the 2015 League Champions: Rockhounds (T-ball), Timber Rattlers (Farm), Twins (Minors), and Yankees (Majors)

Well, that didn't take long. After the first out-of-the-park home run was hit on Saturday, Connor K from the Majors A's followed it up with a long bomb of his own today, hitting the second homer of the season!
