Ever notice someone’s toes lifting when they squat?

As a coach, that’s one of the first things I look for.

Your feet are the foundation of the entire kinetic chain. When we squat well, we should be able to maintain pressure through the big toe, little toe, and heel creating what we call a stable tripod foot.

When the toes lift, it’s often a sign the body is shifting pressure backward or struggling to organize stability from the ground up. And when the foundation changes, the body starts compensating up the chain.

This is where things get interesting.

The way we manage pressure through the feet influences what happens at the hips, core, diaphragm, and pelvic floor. If the system isn’t stacked well, the body may grip, brace, or compensate instead of creating balanced pressure and support.

Squatting well isn’t just about going lower or lifting heavier.

It’s about learning how to create stability and manage pressure through the entire system from the foot all the way to the pelvic floor.

Sometimes the smallest details tell us the most. That’s the coach’s eye.

At this is exactly what we are looking for the imbalance and the feed back! The body is so wise!

For over a decade we’ve supported hundreds of women through pregnancy and postpartum, and this continues to be one of the most powerful spaces inside our Cave community.

🤍The biggest mistake I see in postpartum training? Assuming every pelvic floor is the same . Every body is different!!!

A recent mama a former D1 athlete came in with symptoms many people would immediately label as “weakness.”

But assessment told a different story: her pelvic floor was actually tight and overactive.

Different problem = different solution.

This is why working with qualified professionals matters. By staying in my scope and collaborating with a pelvic floor PT, we were able to build the right plan together.

Great care isn’t guessing.
It’s assessment, collaboration, and referral when needed.

Ask ? We live a good Mommy + me class! But when you are looking for real authority in this arena you have to get curious!!

🩶💪🏼 This may P**S off the “ TREND” GOOD!!
POV:
You find out you’re pregnant.
You’ve been an athlete your whole life…
and suddenly you feel frozen.

Everywhere you look, everyone is a “specialist.”
Contradicting advice.
Buzzwords like safe, pregnancy-trained, postpartum Specialist . Weekend Certs that somehow qualify/ AI taking the place of true education+ skin in the game .

Fear disguised as expertise.

And all you really want is someone real.

Someone who’s actually been in this work.
Someone who’s a mom.
Someone who gives a damn.
Someone who’s been doing this for years, not just since their last certification.

Someone trusted by PTs, chiropractors, doulas, and birth workers.
Someone with hundreds of cases, repeat mamas, second babies, third babies.
Someone invited into first birthdays, postpartum tears, and full-circle healing.

🌱That kind of care can’t be duplicated.
It isn’t trendy.
It isn’t loud.
It’s earned.

So while you’re scrolling through mom groups and Instagram experts, take heart.
Look for the ones who’ve stayed.
Who’ve done the work.
Who’ve been here🤍serving women in this valley, and globaly long before it was popular.

There’s a difference between being new and being seasoned.

In 2026, they’ll try to tell you that thin is back.
That skinny is the goal again.
That shrinking yourself is the answer.

But motherhood teaches us better.

Once you know better, you do better 🤍and we know better now. 💪🏼
We know that muscle is longevity.
That strength is how we heal through pregnancy, postpartum, and every season that follows.
That building muscle supports our bodies, our hormones, our bones, and our nervous systems , not just for today, but for the long run.

Our babies are watching us.

They’re watching how we speak to our bodies.
How we fuel them.
How we move them.
How we respect what they’ve carried, birthed, and healed.

We owe it to ourselves and to them to model strength, not shrinkage.
Motherhood doesn’t ask us to get smaller.

It’s Expansion in its fullest form 🤍🤍🤍💪🏼💪🏼

We have come way too far to fall back to a place that keeps women unhealthy, undernourished, and undermined.
