90 degree weather this week has made it feel like summer rather than the last weeks of winter. And while I know the warm weather won't last, I do love that it has me dreaming of spring. π·π»

I have a handful of photos in my camera that are straight from my vision board. π What I'm loving right now is using those old pics to inspire new journal spreads.
You can try this too. Find a photo that resonates with you. Grab a pen (we don't want to waste time erasing) and sketch out a portion of that scene on your journal page.
The goal isn't perfection or total accuracy. It's about sparking creativity.

Life lately. It has been a season of deconstructing and rebuilding--and this time, I'm leading more space in the margins.
π· Creating with the help of my digital stickers since my range of motion has been newly altered.
π·Koda gaurding the hardware.
π· Finally feeling a bit more like myself, with new earrings and a new scar.
π· Major workspace overhaul in progress as i shift from "office"'to studio.

π· Traveling the UK through the eyes of my oldest child who might share my wanderlust gene. π

I recently discovered that my mom loves getting mail.πI should have known this years ago--she always sends me cards. Sometimes the love language we speak is the one we most want to hear.
So I've started sending her "one take" postcards. They're little creations that I dream up and don't allow myself to edit. Today, I combined a sticker from the Imaginarium collection with a wash of watercolor. π

Sometimes I know exactly what I want to create. Other times, the ideas unfold in the process. Still working on this one. We'll see where the pen takes me. βπΌ

A little glimpse behind the scenes as I'm re-creating some of my favorite doodles as digital art.β¨
Sometimes I'm drawn (no pun intended π€) to paper and pen. Other times, creating on an iPad is provides a fun escape because I don't get nearly as hung up on mistakes.

When I first began my drawing practice years ago, it was to help with anxiety. It worked. Then, when that same practice brought me joy, I hid it away. Joy in the face of ongoing world tragedies just felt wrong.
Now, I've realized I make art to bring light to a world that feels dark. β¨

Back to work today, and I catch myself wondering if I'll be able to keep up with my art once I'm back in the classroom again. I don't think teachers ever achieve balance. I think we find rhythm between pouring into others and pouring into ourselves and hope that we get the dance right.
Also the rain in the background while I was shooting these pics. π I just had to share it with you.

In 2025, I created more than ever, but rarely posted. The truth is, being in front of the camera felt exhausting. I needed a way to get back in touch with the restorative nature of my art.
Now, I'm back in the flow and it feels darn good. I can't wait to share all of the little journaling goodies I've been creating for you. βπΌπ€

Is it just me, or was 2025 a little turbulent? I'm taking time to welcome this New year slowly. Cozying up with some candles, coffee and my journal out in the studio, while listening to the sound of rain on the roof. However you're ushering in the new energy today, I'm wishing you all good things in 2026. β¨

Years ago, my best friend gave me a rock with the word Breathe inscribed on it. I still have it on my desk--a little nudge to set things down when the world feels heavy.
This is your reminder to breathe today--and get out your journal and create.
