SWISH is a recreational basketball league for girls and young women in Santa Cruz County, California. The league operates from late March through early June.

We have been in existence since 1997, and serve up to 200 girls each year. During the 10-week season, the coaches work to build up the athletic skills as well as the leadership and sportsmanship of the girls and young women of SWISH—all through the fun and exciting sport of basketball!

Parents Killed by DUI Driver, organized by Brad and Grant Palmer 10/01/2020

It is with heavy hearts that we inform all of our SWISH & G-Ball families of the loss of 2 of our beloved members. Heidi & Kirsten DeBellotte were on their way home last Saturday evening and were struck by a drunk driver; both lives were lost.

Heidi and Kirsten were instrumental in the success of both of our leagues. Heidi, a board member with SWISH for more than 8 years, helping with all the behind the scene tasks and volunteering countless hours on the weekends at the T-Shirt table, and snack table for G-Ball. Kirsten was one of our most committed coaches for both leagues, coaching his own daughters, and continuing on every year afterwards; he’s been coaching with both leagues for more than 10 years.

Their commitment to our youth and the community was never ending and always a priority. Both will be immensely missed and we will cherish the memories we have of them both.

Their daughters, Tanisha & Taylor, have also coached and volunteered countless hours to both of our leagues. We will forever be grateful for all of their contributions.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been started to help with expenses for Tanisha & Taylor, as they try to navigate their next steps.
