Going to the pool or lake this 4th of July weekend? Check out this swimsuit tip! 👙 🩱

Notice how brightly colored swimsuits almost disappear in the lake and become much harder to see than they are in a pool? Water color, waves, glare, and depth can make certain colors nearly invisible.

💦 Best colors for visibility: Neon yellow, bright orange, and fluorescent green are generally the easiest to spot in both pools and open water.

⚠️ Harder to see: Blue, gray, black, white, and darker colors often blend into the water, especially in lakes, rivers, and oceans.

While swimsuit color can help, it's never a substitute for active supervision. Keep children within arm's reach around water, designate a "water watcher," and make sure everyone wears a properly fitted life jacket when appropriate.

A bright swimsuit is one small choice that can make a big difference when every second counts. Stay safe and enjoy your 4th of July weekend! ☀️🏊‍♀️🌊
