And as a mom, my why is bigger than me. I want my kids to see that strength is built, not given. That food is fuel, not punishment. That confidence comes from the inside out. I want them to grow up knowing that their bodies are not projects to be fixed, but instruments to be celebrated. That discipline isn’t about perfection, it’s about showing up for yourself even when it’s hard. That health isn’t a number on a scale, but the energy, joy, and resilience you bring into each day. If they can watch me chase strength instead of ‘skinny,’ and treat myself with respect instead of criticism, then maybe they’ll inherit not just my habits, but my self-worth. 📸

I used to think “discipline”
meant rising, pushing, never stopping—
forcing myself through anything,
even on the heaviest days.
Now I know a deeper discipline:
to honor what I know within,
to pause, to rest,
to soften the endless going.
I used to think STRENGTH
meant holding it all together,
never wavering, never bending—
always carrying more than my share.
Now I know a deeper strength:
to set down what isn’t mine,
to speak my truth with tenderness,
and to let vulnerability
become its own kind of power.

Here’s what to focus on:
🍑Build muscle > Burn calories: Because more muscle means you’ll burn more calories at rest + you look & feel awesome
⌚️Long term > Quick fixes: Sustainable habits last, extreme approaches don’t
🍳Protein goal > Fad diets: Protein fuels muscle growth & recovery, plus helps you feel full over empty calories
🏋️♀️ Strength program > Random workouts: Progressive overload with simple movements beats random workouts or “shocking the body” every week. 📸

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim,
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same:
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

To the man I am making,
To the very Soul I am baking,
With every ounce of me you are taking
And my reluctance you are breaking.
As my old self dissolves into the universe of what once was.
I reminisce of my childhood as one does.
I wonder who you’ll become and the man you’ll be.
How I’ll affect you, what you’ll learn and what you’ll see.
Will you get my jokes? Can I make you laugh?
Will you fake a smile on my behalf?
Will good food, music and laughter make you happy?
Will love, heartbreak and tears feel too sappy?
Will you love the sea?
Will you feel free?
Who will you be?
What will you teach me?

If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.
- Martin Luther King, Jr.
For those of you who know me and know my story, know that I don’t speak of it that much. It’s often to hard for people to digest. But what I can say to you is this… No matter how hard it might feel right now, you will get through it. No matter how dark the thoughts you have, you can drift out of that darkness. No matter how alone you might feel, there are people out there that have been through it and you are never alone.

What’s the difference??
The answer is quite simple - one focuses more on getting off the ground fast (drop jump) and the other focuses more on maximal height
Because a drop jump focuses more on being quick off the ground it relies a little more being “ankle dominant” while a drop jump uses a little more quad
I think people too often go for the drop jump, which is fine, but when it comes to a depth jump you could argue it’s a little more relatable to most sports like basketball and volleyball when contact times are a little longer and you deal with more “knee bend” during the jump
