If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate.

Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11.

911
I'm regularly asked why I decided to join the Marine Corps.

With so much unrest and division in this country these days hopefully today can be a reason to cast some unity on us.

Today being 9/11 I am reminded of my undying love for my country, it's people and what it means to protect them.

Ultimately you have never lived until you have almost died.

And for those of us who chose to fight, life has a special flavor, the protected will never know.

May God bless those who lost their lives on that day and those of us that continue to stand for them.

I believe that a trusting attitude and a patient attitude go hand in hand.

You see, when you let go and learn to trust The process, it releases joy in your life.

And when you trust the universe, you're able to be more patient grows.

Patience is not just about waiting for something...

it's about how you wait, or your attitude while waiting.

Patience is the calm acceptance that things can happen in a different order than the one you have in your mind.

Patience is the companion of wisdom.

Do you trust the process?

Everything happening around me is very random.

I am enjoying the phase, as the journey is far more enjoyable than the destination.

Focus on the journey, not the destination.

Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.

To truly be successful in what ever it is you want to be successful in you most be in love with the process and the journey.

Your desired destination is the byproduct of being in love with the process and the journey.

Are you living life in the moment or in the past/future?

I'm constantly trying to look at things from a different view and to put myself into some new perspectives to evolve myself, grow myself, and reinvent myself.

Challenge yourself every day to do better and be better.

Remember, growth starts with a decision to move beyond your present circumstances.

You are not creating a new you; you are releasing a hidden you.

The process is one of self-discovery. The hidden you that wants to emerge is in perfect balance.

Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.

How have you reinvented yourself?

Never surrender your hopes and dreams to the fateful limitations others have placed on their own lives.

The vision of your true destiny does not reside within the blinkered outlook of the naysayers and the doom prophets.

Judge not by their words, but accept advice based on the evidence of actual results.

Do not be surprised should you find a complete absence of anything mystical or miraculous in the manifested reality of those who are so eager to advise you.

Friends and family who suffer the lack of abundance, joy, love, fulfillment and prosperity in their own lives really have no business imposing their self-limiting beliefs on your reality experience.

Do you believe in limitations?

We live in a technological universe in which we are always communicating.

And yet we have sacrificed conversation for mere connection.

Social connection is such a basic feature of human experience that when we are deprived of it, we suffer.

I remind myself that I'm always more satisfied by human interaction than by a digital connection.

My mom used to tell me stories at night, read books to me - and I read 'em over and over and over again.

And you know what I learned from that?

I went back and looked at everything.

Why do I like reading the same stories over and over and over again?

What, was I some kind of nincompoop?

No - the narrative gave me connection with my mom.

Real human connection is what the world needs more of, not more apps.

Do you agree?

I don't think I'm alone in this: I'm obsessed with trying to not only be happy but maintain happiness, but my definition of happiness is skewed more towards ecstasy rather than contentment.

In my own personal life, it's been pretty hard navigating love, and so I've found this kind of contentment in loving myself and waiting for the world to catch up.

Are you content?

The only way that we can live, is if we grow.

The only way that we can grow is if we change.

The only way that we can change is if we learn.

The only way we can learn is if we are exposed.

And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open.

Do it.

My commitment to myself this 2021 is to do just that.

Throw yourself.

Who’s with me?

If you regret some of the decisions you made in the past, don’t be so hard on yourself.

At that time, you did your best with the knowledge and experience that you had.

Some of your decisions might of been coping skills and a time when you didn’t know what you know today if you were to make those decisions with the wisdom you have now, you would chose differently.

So give yourself a break and forgive yourself.

Time and experience has a wonderful way to make us realize that we prosper, grow and learn to make better choices today, for ourselves and those we care for.

As long as you feel pain, you’re still alive.

As long as you make mistakes, you’re still human.

And as long as you keep trying, there’s still hope.

Can you practice no regrets?

I've realized through the years that I just find happiness in other things, whether it's my dogs or my friends or, like, looking at the sunset.

So if I were to wish for something else, it would just to be happy all the time, to have a superpower of not letting things affect me, and to be true to who I am, always.

My puppy has been the constant reminder of truly living in the space of true happiness.

There is no evidence that dogs have the kind of complex emotional lives and value systems that we do.

It's one reason why we love them so much, in fact.

They are neither "good" nor "bad." They don't hold grudges, act in petty ways, or seek revenge.

They read our moods, but not our minds.

I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.

For me, they are the role model for being alive.

Dogs have boundless enthusiasm and no sense of shame.

My Halo is in many ways my life coach.

Maybe we should all have a dog as a life coach.
