CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program centered around constantly varied, high intensity functional movements. We take movements essential to life such as pulling, throwing, sprinting, picking up, bending down, carrying, and moving large loads quickly from one place to another. Our movements are derived from proven disciplines and sports such as Olympic lifting, gymnastics, kettlebell tra
ining, calisthenics, power lifting, strongman, running, and rowing. With these movements, we have created a sport that is scalable so that people of all athletic backgrounds and levels can produce tremendous results and quantifiable so that our athletes can objectively measure their progress through statistics and personal records. We define fitness by the following measures: endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy; most people overtrain endurance or strength which leads to imbalances and boredom. You will never see our members sitting on a bike and reading a magazine or staring at a mirror doing bicep curls. Our workouts are intense, demanding focus and commitment. CrossFit will challenge you, your body, and your mind to perform to its fullest potential. The Philosophy
Being well-rounded in so many aspects of fitness and drawing from so many different sports is rooted from scientific principles. Our methods are based on the principle that real life does not have programming. That is the whole idea behind CrossFit -- it is real life and only the fittest survive. Real life causes you to do things that were not in your plan. Your body is an amazing machine that ADAPTS to just about anything. If you are constantly changing what your body needs to adapt to, you will be amazed at what your body can do. With small groups of like minded people led by an expert coach, we will run you through a challenging workout that changes every time. We rarely do the same routine twice. Our workouts last 15 minutes on average so it is very accommodating to even those with the busiest schedules. However, we guarantee that it will be the most effective 15 minutes you have ever experienced, and the results will be unparalleled. Our members come from all walks of life: students, office professionals, stay-at-home parents, and artists. They come from all athletic backgrounds from professional/collegial athletes and Olympians to senior citizens who have not exercised most of their lives. CrossFit is for every one! If it has been a while since you have exercised, do not worry. All of our workouts are scalable based on your current ability. We make adjustments in the repetitions, weight, and distance so that everyone can participate. CrossFit is a Community
At CrossFit SandBox, our members are athletes. Our trainers are coaches. Our gym is a community. The shared experience and its positive effects are the one thing in CrossFit that are immeasurable. Just like your favorite athletes, you will be inspired to push past your perceived limits through support of your teammates and the relationship you build with your coaches. "3-2-1 Go!" The clock starts and every one does the same workout. In the end the last person to finish a workout is cheered on like a hero. At our box, you will find an extremely welcoming, supportive, and committed community providing an environment where everyone can succeed. A fit person deals with the stresses and anxieties of modern life with confidence and strength, and is more physically able to do the things that bring joy and fun to life -– from staying alert and being energetic throughout your work day, to running around with your kids, to being physically attractive, and to playing sports long past when your friends have long retired.
