Whirling Wind Tai Chi Chuan

MT (Steven) Rose, Teacher MT (Steven) Rose has been studying Tai Chi Chuan 40 years.

He is a senior student of Tai Chi Chuan as taught by Tam Gibbs who was Cheng Man-Ch’ing's personal secretary and translator. He also studied with other senior students of Professor Cheng: Lo Pang Jeng (Benjamin Lo), Ed Young, and Maggie Newman. The Whirling Wind Tai Chi Chuan (formerly Sonoma Mountain School of Tai Chi Chuan) school was founded by Steven 25 years ago.

* Tuesday, 6:00-7:00 p.m., Introduction to Tai Chi Chuan, Register at Santa Parks and Recreation either online, by mail, telephone, or fax
* Tuesday, 7:30-8:30 p.m., Beginning Class (All Levels Welcome), 640 Debbie Drive, Santa Rosa
* Wednesday, 7:00-9:00 p.m., Form Study & Push Hands, By Invitation Only
* Saturday, 8:30-9:30 a.m., Form Study-Everyone Welcome (free class), Doyle Park (Doyle Park Drive off of Sonoma Avenue)
* Sunday, 4:00-6:00 p.m., Form Study & Push Hands, By Invitation Only

Are you laughing at me?
The work we do in class and on our own is difficult. At times it can be exhausting. Looking inward, ridding ourselves of self-deception, constantly changing, refining ourselves, relaxing our egos — all of this can be heavy, therefore let us all have a good laugh. We should not take everything so seriously. Our time together is short, none of us knows how long it will last. Laugh at me today, I will laugh at you tomorrow, let us laugh at ourselves, but work hard and be kind. -
