I remember the day Amani walked in the Islanders gym to tryout. She made our 14 Elite team, the 6 ft 2 girl with no volleyball knowlegde or skill really to be placed on a Elite team. I took a chance on her and put a STAR by her name as I was evaluating all the players and offered her a spot. Everyone on the team was excited, but she really had no idea what team she had made, girls were crying and upset that they did not make the team but she just had no clue of why there was so much fuss really. She approached another coach and asked him to explain what team she had made. Many thought I was crazy to offer her a spot on the top team, but I was willing to take a chance on her. It was hard at times, there were tears, but she stuck it out for 4 years playing for the Carolina Islanders. To know where she came from and where she is now just makes me so proud and grateful that she fell in love with the sport at our club and that I took a chance on her by placing that lil’ STAR by her name on the tryout list that day!❤️

Amani McArthur Signs with PVF’s Vegas Thrill - Michigan State University Athletics EAST LANSING, Mich. – A lifelong dream realized. Former Michigan State volleyball middle blocker Amani McArthur is going pro. After a month-long tryout and several waves of cuts, McArthur was named to the practice squad of the Pro Volleyball Federation's Vegas Thrill on Monday.

Final Tryout tomorrow for 15s-18s on Sunday, November 12th from 4:30-6:30 at Goose Creek Community
