Coach Ryan and Coach Gabriel have the kids working the same staging points as the adults, while using guard breaks, knee cuts, and strong control positions after the pass as part of the warm ups!

The techniques are being broken down step by step so the students can understand the movement, stay balanced, and build confidence as they learn how everything connects together.

Awesome work from the kids 🐬

A lot of good work and attention to detail during Coach Werther’s class.

The focus for the top player was headquarters positioning, inside knee cuts, and outside shin on shin entries while Coach Werther made his way around the room helping everybody clean up the small details that make the positions actually work.

One thing that always stands out in these sessions is how hands on the coaching is. Questions get answered, adjustments get made, and everybody gets the chance to understand the movement instead of just rushing through reps.

Good energy all around and a lot of learning happening during these rounds🐬

Ash has been doing an awesome job lately paying attention to the small details and it’s starting to really show in his training.

This sequence started with the trap and roll before transitioning into the guard break, knee cut, knee on belly, and eventually the mount. What made it even better was how controlled and technical everything was, especially against a bigger training partner.

A great reminder that good technique and attention to detail can go a long way regardless of size. Awesome work!🐬

One of the best parts about training is the people you get to share the mats with.

Coach Werther’s classes have been full of hard work, learning, laughs, and a lot of iron sharpens iron moments lately. Everybody pushes each other to improve while still keeping the environment fun and welcoming at the same time.

Good training will always matter, but the community built through it is what keeps people coming back year after year 🐬

There’s something satisfying about a clean snap down when the timing lines up just right.

A lot of these exchanges come down to reactions, movement, and being able to stay one step ahead during the scramble. Sometimes it’s not the flashy stuff that changes the pace of a round, it’s the little things that create openings.

Good energy and good work all around. 🐬

Coach Jared walking through quarter nelson details and how to properly get the hook in before initiating the back take.

One thing that’s been great about these classes is the amount of focus being put on control and positioning before rushing the finish. Small details like hand placement, pressure, and timing make a huge difference when it comes to successfully taking the back and staying connected through the transition.

A lot of good learning and problem solving happening during these sessions. 🐬

The advanced kids crew has been putting in some serious work!

More focus. More confidence. More attention to detail. It’s been awesome watching these students continue growing not just in their technique, but also in the way they carry themselves and help each other improve.

A lot of good energy and hard work from this group every week. 🐬

The morning crew has been getting after it with Coach Dylan!

A lot of chain wrestling, staying active through transitions, and learning how to keep moving instead of stopping after the first attack. The focus has been less about forcing techniques and more about building flow, reactions, and confidence through the exchanges.

Good training, good people, and a great way to start the day 🐬

Situational training is where a lot of growth happens.

One person’s goal was to lock in and finish the triangle. The other person’s job was to stay calm, create space, and escape before the position was fully secured.

These rounds force students to problem solve in real time instead of just memorizing techniques. Timing, pressure, patience, and small adjustments start to matter a whole lot more when both people know exactly what’s coming.

Good work from everybody involved in these rounds. 🥋🐬
