Earlier today I walked through a space that could become home for The Altar Fellowship. I cried.
Not because we’ve crossed the finish line… but because, for the first time in a long time, I could actually picture the children, the families, the counseling rooms, the laughter, the Bible studies, the parenting classes… and all the life that could happen there.
Yesterday I gave because I believe in what God is doing through The Altar Fellowship.
There was a time when John and I were able to give much more than I could yesterday. I miss those days… and I miss him every single day.
The last five years have been the hardest of my life.
I lost my husband. We lost our home and nearly everything we owned. Hurricane Helene destroyed our ministry operations. Our family walked through serious health challenges. There were days when I honestly didn’t know how we would keep moving forward.
Sometimes the person leading the mission also needs the mission. I know… because that’s been me.
Through every loss, one thing never changed: The Altar Fellowship never stopped being my family. The community of faith became my support system, and the mission itself gave me one of the greatest reasons to get up every morning and keep going.
Every child we mentor. Every family we strengthen. Every parent we encourage. Every couple we walk beside.
Every counseling session, parenting class, food distribution, youth event, and every moment that reminds someone they are loved… has also reminded me that God is not finished writing our stories.
So yesterday I gave and I will keep on giving - not because I have abundance, but because I still believe.
If you’re reading this and wondering whether this ministry is worth supporting…
I can tell you from personal experience that it doesn’t simply change lives.
It has carried mine.
And if one day you need someone to walk beside you, know that these doors are opening for you too.

Four years ago, what began as a beautiful friendship slowly became something even more precious... God was at work!
What started as a genuine friendship grew, little by little, into a relationship marked by love for one another, a desire to honor God, and a commitment to walk this journey with integrity and purity.
Over these years, we’ve watched not only JC and Amillia grow closer to each other, but also closer to the Lord. Our families have become family to one another, and together, these two have already been used to encourage others and advance God’s Kingdom in ways far greater than they probably realize.
Today, my heart is overflowing with gratitude as we celebrate their engagement! 💍❤️
Congratulations, JC and Amillia. May your love continue to reflect Christ, your home become a place of peace and hospitality, and your marriage be a testimony of God’s faithfulness for many years to come. And may you have loads of fun along the way!
