04/03/2026

Well folks, after taking a close look at everything, we’ve made the decision to reschedule Lacy’s debut to May 9th at Auburndale Speedway for the Twin 50’s.

We want to make sure the car is exactly where it needs to be and give Lacy the best possible opportunity to go out there and perform at a high level. Taking this extra time allows us to get more laps, dial everything in, and show up fully prepared.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and appreciate everyone’s continued support.

Rising Star Florida Driver Lacy Kuehl Set for Super Late Model Debut at Auburndale Speedway on April 4th, Twin 50's

WINTER HAVEN, FL — On Saturday, April 4th, 2026, the Florida racing scene will witness a major career milestone as 19-year-old Driver Lacy Kuehl makes her highly anticipated debut in the Super Late Model division at Auburndale Speedway. The event, headlined by the Easter Super Late Model Twin 50's, marks Kuehl’s transition into one of the most competitive levels of short-track racing.

Kuehl, a Sarasota native and a graduate of the 2019 NASCAR Youth Development Driver Program, has spent the last decade building a reputation for versatility and resilience. From winning in Legend Cars at Auburndale to competing in the Junior Iditarod in Alaska, Kuehl has consistently proven she can handle high-pressure environments.

"Moving into a Super Late Model is the next step in my goal to reach the highest levels of NASCAR and other Motorsports endeavors," said Kuehl. "Auburndale is where I’ve had some of my biggest moments, and I can’t think of a better place to start this new chapter."

Driving for a Deeper Purpose
While the debut is a significant achievement, Kuehl’s primary focus remains her mission: Drive for Diabetes Awareness, INC (DFDA). After losing her baby brother, Rocco, to misdiagnosed Type 1 Diabetes in 2010, Lacy and her family have used racing as a platform to educate parents on the early warning symptoms of the disease.

For the April 4th race, Kuehl’s Super Late Model will feature the signature #4 DFDA. As part of her "Check Don’t Guess" campaign, she will spend time before the green flag meeting fans and distributing educational brochures to help save lives through early detection.

RIP Doug Hestes

Sad News: After a medical issue put him in the ICU last week, Legends Nation is sad to learn the passing of Doug Hestes. Doug and Sheila Hestes are well known in the motorsports world, especially in Alaska. They are race fans that love the sport so much they spent their money sponsoring several drivers in different divisions of racing. Earlier this year, they helped sponsor LN’s Event Coverage of the Lance Mackey Memorial event at Alaska Raceway Park. An interview with both can be watched at the link (

A note from LN Owner, Jason Stix Buckley:

“Doug was one of those people you just enjoyed talking to. He truly loved the sport, everything about it, and everyone in it. I was honored to be able to meet him, and Sheila, on my first trip to Alaska, and I could see the passion they had for racing. I captured one moment by photo when they both went to the track fence just to watch some cars taking laps. You could see they were in their element. The racing world lost one of the best. My thoughts are with Sheila, their family, and friends.”
