The holidays are approaching!

And you know what that means…

Lots and lots of food and lots and lots of excuses.

Excuses as to why you can’t work out.
Excuses as to why you’re allowed to eat more.
Excuses as to why it’s ok to cancel on your trainer.

Although Thanksgiving and Christmas are times meant to be spent with families and enjoying each other with great food, that doesn’t mean you can put your goals and needs aside.

It’s still ok to put yourself first sometimes and get on those 30 minutes of working out that will keep you consistent.

It’s ok to not eat every dessert on the dinner table.

It’s ok to still stay active even when life gets busy.

And there’s a way to do that!!

There’s ways to stay consistent in your workouts and still eat (almost) everything you would like.

My program will keep you in check even through all the holidays craziness!

And trust me, you need it.

People often ask on social media what is it that I do?

Well, here is a quick answer to that question 🙂

In 16 weeks, I help busy parents improve their eating habits so they can lose weight and have the energy and ability to keep up with their kids and their everyday lifestyle.

There are only a few things standing between where you are and where you want to be...

NUMBER ONE: The discipline to do the hard work 💪

Let's be honest, we are constantly looking for short cuts or the easy way out.

We want everything fast without having to put too much work into it.

In the health field, let's look at all the diets, pills and supplements out there that are supposed to help you drop X weight in a matter of days or weeks.

Or look at all the medical interventions people go through to look a certain way...

The results are fast (sometimes) but you don't really have to put all that effort into it. And I’m most cases, the results don’t last.

The thing is, anything worth having is worth fighting for.

All of these short cuts sometimes gets you fast results but they usually don't last. WHY!? 🧐

Because you don't find the source of the issue.

All you're doing is basically putting a band aid on a really big cut. Eventually, it's not going to work anymore.

Losing weight and getting healthy again takes time and it takes work. NO ONE can do the work except for you.

You can have guidance and you can have support, but what it comes down to is how badly do you want this? How badly do you want these goals to happen?

If you want it bad enough, you will put the work in that is necessary.

If you don't want it that bad, you might do some things here and there, but you'll begin to make excuses as to why you can't eat better or why you can't exercise.

So, who do you want to be?

Do you want to look back at your life 5 or 10 years from now and wonder how different your life might have been if you took your health seriously?

Eat Breakfast like a King 👑

Do this to help lose weight!

If you aren't doing any sort of intermittent fasting, then you need to doing this for breakfast...

EAT MORE 🙌

A lot of the times, we eat minimal calories in the morning because we aren't hungry, don't have the time to make something or think that eating less will help with weight loss.

But all of those are WRONG choices. 👎

If you only eat a few hundred calories in the morning, you're going to want to make up for it later in the day because your body still has a caloric need.

When you eat only a small amount, you become mentally drained, emotionally exhausted and you won't end up making good food decisions. 😮

You will get hungry before lunch and want to snack. And most snacks tend not to be healthy…🍩

Or you will get so hungry and eat more at lunch, dinner, and snacking.

Instead, focus on having a larger breakfast which will be more satiating in the long run and keep you fuller.

You can have 40-50% of your calories in the morning...but remember to have a well-balanced meal with protein, healthy fats, and good carbs.

Stay away from sugar, processed foods, and flour. 🙅🏻‍♀️

Even with a perfect diet, the combination of many things –including our depleted soils, the storage and transportation of our food, genetic alterations of traditional heirloom species, and the increased stress and nutritional demands resulting from a toxic environment – make it impossible for us to get the vitamins and minerals we need solely from the foods we eat.

Simply put, the evidence shows we cannot get away from the need for nutritional supplements.

Doctors used to think you got all your vitamins and minerals from food. Any extra nutrients were excreted, or worse, became toxic. But the tide is shifting.

Doctors now prescribe over one billion dollars in fish oil supplements. Most cardiologists recommend folate, fish oil, and coenzyme Q10. Gastroenterologists recommend probiotics. Obstetricians have always recommended prenatal vitamins.

How often are you moving?

Research shows that there is a powerful link between the amount of exercise we incorporate and our body's immune system.

Aerobic exercise strengthens our cardiovascular health and other practices like yoga can help to decrease blood pressure and cholesterol.

A huge health benefit to exercise is that it improves insulin sensitivity, which is the BIGGEST contributor to advanced aging.

Less insulin also means less dangerous visceral belly fat...

I know some days it is just so hard to find the time to exercise. Days are hectic, you're tired, your family or job needs you and somehow you are still expected to convince yourself to do something that doesn't feel all that great while you're doing it. Crazy right?!

I understand. There are many days that I much rather sleep in or just do something else that is more fun.

But I know if I do not get it in in the morning then there is a very small chance I will be getting it in later in the day.

So, I set my alarm and as soon as it beeps, I get myself up and my day begins.

These are just some benefits of daily movement (there are much more).

The question becomes, how do you incorporate movement daily??

Here are three simple ways:
✔️Make it a priority and think ahead
✔️Do it first thing in the morning
✔️Make it fun by trying something new

I think everyone would agree that exercise makes you feel better. Maybe not during the exercise but always after. It makes me feel stronger, calmer, healthier and just plain good. So, I encourage you to get up today and move your body, even if it's just for a few minutes.

Don't know how to exercise and feel lost in this crazy world of cross fit, bungee classes and trampoline classes? I got you. All exercise and movement is good for you but it doesn't have to be so complicated.

Life is full of choices and possibilities.

You can lead a life you want and dream or you can stay stagnant where you are, afraid to do anything different.

Last week I spoke a little on how we as a people can operate.

We can operate from a place of fear or a place of desire.

One of them is the path to success. 💪

One operates from possibilities while the other operates from perceived failure.

Why is this important and worth noting?

Because most things that we want for ourselves in our lives only happens if are not scared to do it.

Think about it for a minute...🧐

If you want to get married, you need to put yourself out there and be willing to put your heart on the line for someone who may or may not take it.

If you want a promotion or land your big dream job, you might need to work extra hard, get another degree or go on multiple interviews.

ALL OF THESE ARE SCARY THINGS.

Everything we do comes with risk and possible failure...but it also comes with great possibilities.

YOU CAN COMMIT TO THE STORY OF WHY EVERYTHING THAT YOU DESIRE IS POSSIBLE AND AVAILABLE TO YOU.

OR

YOU CAN COMMIT TO THE STORY OF ALL OF THE OBSTACLES STANDING IN THE WAY.

For those who love smoothies!

Made this with lunch and it was nutritional, yummy and so satisfying 🙌

Ingredients:
Oat milk
Frozen blueberries
Chia and flax seeds
Plan based protein powder
Almond butter
Half an avocado

Toppings:
shredded unsweetened coconut
Crushed walnuts
100% dark Cocoa nibs

Sometimes you just need something sweet, cold and satisfying especially on a hot day like today. 🥵

This smoothie has healthy fats from the avocado, nuts and seeds. Protein from the powder, almond butter and nuts. And good carbs from the avocado and blueberries, not to mention lots of antioxidants from the berries also.

And let’s not forget about the fiber from the seeds which is extremely important! Everyone needs more fiber in their diet. 😋

Perfectly healthy as a balanced meal for lunch or maybe an after dinner dessert. 😏

Don’t forget to always balance your meals!
Protein ✔️
Healthy fats ✔️
Good carbs ✔️

You should have these in every meal you eat 💪

It will help balance your blood sugar/insulin levels; especially if you eat them in the right order 😄

What would you do differently if you had more energy throughout the day? (without the help of coffee or energy drinks) 😒

WHAT if you began to think more clearly and had less brain fog?
