🤿 HUGE update: we’ve been traveling for the last few years but have now settled down in Big Pine Key, FL, snagged a boat and now offer sunset cruises, snorkel trips to the reefs & scuba diving trips/certifications! šŸļø

Good luck little fellas!

New beginnings: Two Leatherback hatchlings about to embark on a journey of epic proportions as they enter the gentle surf in Juno Beach, FL in early summer. This species—my favorite ocean animal—is the largest sea turtle and the toughest to photograph. They’re always on the move and don’t particularly hang out in a specific habitat. Super tough. But when you get lucky…magic…©Michael Patrick O'Neill

While in Ohio we made a quick dip down to Lake Cumberland in KY. We’ve been down dozens of times before but this time we came across a swinging bridge that was super cool!
Unfortunately there were not any trails on the other side of the bridge but we did get to walk down to the water and hang out a bit.
Finding the hidden gems are so important but you have to get out and explore to find them!

šŸ‘‰ While we wait for our truck to be worked on, I was going through our videos from a couple of weeks ago.
This video is from Horseshoe Beach, near Big Pine Key. We loved this spot so much that we went 3 times!
🐠 There’s a lot of fishing on the rocks and we even saw a nurse shark that someone caught! 🦈
The other times we came we went snorkeling 🤿 and diving.
There’s a ton of fish and the water had great visibility. I highly recommend it!
The best part was sharing our adventure with The Second Chance Clan

šŸ›‘ While on our way to SC a couple of days ago, we had 2 injectors go out just 3 hours after being on the road.
šŸ‘®ā€ā™€ļø We weren’t able to get any roadside assistance, not one tow truck would come to help (we were too big), and the Florida highway helpline just gave us wrecker numbers since we called during ā€œafter hoursā€ (the ones that couldn’t help).
By Gods grace, we broke down in the perfect place!
It felt like the end of the world for a hot minute while our kids are snuggled on the side of the road, as far away from i95 that I could get them to keep them safe.
The only thing we knew was that the truck was shaking badly and smoke was pouring out of the exhaust and oil cap.
With no assistance we had to drive the truck to get off of the exit, praying that the engine didn’t blow up. šŸ’Ø
While limping to the mechanic, we were pulled over by a policeman and that’s a story in itself!
At the next exit was a commercial diesel truck mechanic and an encore park (part of our campground memebership).
We pulled in about midnight, stayed in the rv in the mechanics lot and then the generator went out at 2am.
When it rains, it pours.
The mechanic towed our rv to the local encore park the following morning, within walking distance. Now we’re hoping to leave in a couple of days.
Some days are harder than others. With anything in life, things happen. Things break and you better be sure that if you’re a fulltime traveler that you have a little savings to pay for repairs such as this. Plan wisely! šŸ’°
Also: we found out that Josephs aunt was in town visiting so we get to meet them at the beach tomorrow!
Note: while just using our caution lights, people would zoom by us. As soon as I put out our extra lights that spun in a red circle šŸ”“ people slowed down and moved over. It caught their attention because the lights didn’t just blink of and on, I highly recommend them! Pm me if you need a link.
