Another CCNC in the books!

Without any small boats practices prior to arriving in Sarasota, a brand new coaching staff and two sets of new drummers and steerers who had just learned their jobs months earlier, the team pulled together and delivered.

Our premier open small boat swept every race and pulled the fastest times on both the 500m and 200m across all small boat divisions.

As if that wasnโ€™t enough, our ladies and gentlemen on the small boats double rostered into a standard boat and came out 5th overall, securing another berth in the most competitive division at CCNC, Standard Boat Premier Mixed.

With multiple berths earned, we are now in position to send the most athletes to CCWC in Catch22โ€™s history. We look forward to representing the USA in Taiwan next year! ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ

Continuing our mid-season recap series: the first-ever New York International Dragon Boat Festival!

Our Mixed boat took Gold in the Sports Division! ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿ†

Cheers to for hosting another fantastic event.

We had a great time soaking in the sights at Rockland Lake State Park, and it was so much fun racing against our Flushing Marina friends: and !๐Ÿ‰

Next up on our mid-season recap: Montreal! It was an incredible and humbling experience to witness the awe-inspiring performances from our northern neighbors and to race at the iconic Olympic Basin. ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Montreal gave us an invaluable chance to apply everything weโ€™ve learned so far this season as we adopt a new technique. While we didnโ€™t make it to the podium, we made solid progress putting our revamped tech to the test and syncing up even more as a team.

The race also marked the debut of our new womenโ€™s crew jerseys! ๐Ÿ’ƒ Will our menโ€™s crew be able to match this?? The season isnโ€™t over yetโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘€

Speaking of style, our crew also picked up some elite performance sunglasses from , be sure to check them out! UV eye protection has never looked so good. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Big thanks to for such a well run race. It was great seeing our fellow New Yorkers, and ! Way to represent NYC. And always a pleasure seeing our friends and crushing it as well!

Next stop, Mercer! ๐Ÿ‰

Kicking off our mid-season recap with a look back at our first race of the season: IDBR!

As many of our fellow NYC paddlers know, this season has been rough for the local dragon boat community with the closure of our Marina, severely limiting our access to water practices. On top of that, Mother Nature didnโ€™t cooperate through most of April and May so we were only able to squeeze in six water practices before race day. โ›ˆ๏ธ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ

Despite strong competition, including multiple Team USA crews prepping for Germany and many of our athletes pulling double duty racing in both gendered and mixed divisions, we pushed through to secure our 6th overall and 5th consecutive Mixed A Major Division Championship! Our men also brought home the Open A Major Division Championship for the second consecutive year, and our women made the A Major finals for the second year in a row!

For those keeping score, hereโ€™s our championship tally so far:

๐Ÿฅ‡Six-time A Major Division Mixed Champions: 2025๐Ÿ†, 2024๐Ÿ†, 2023๐Ÿ†, 2022๐Ÿ†, 2021๐Ÿ†, 2018๐Ÿ†

๐Ÿฅ‡Two-time A Major Division Open Champions: 2025๐Ÿ†, 2024๐Ÿ†

Huge thanks to for hosting such a great race; itโ€™s always a highlight of our season! And shoutout to all the strong teams we faced in the finals including ! ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿ‰

Weโ€™re so proud to see all of our athletesโ€™ hard work during the off-season pay off. Onward and upward on our ! ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
