That’s a wrap. It’s been a wild 9 years and we got to make a lot of memories in the process. We appreciate all the support we received over the years, and we’re looking forward to what the next chapter has in store.

Knocked down my biggest public land buck Sunday morning at 200yd. By far the most challenging shot I’ve ever made on an animal despite being only 200yd, free hand from a saddle, cross-body while he’s moving through grass taller than his back. When he turned and momentarily stopped, I assumed from his head and neck that he had turned broadside but because of the density of grass, I was unable to see any part of his body, so I put the crosshairs where the shoulder and vitals should be and squeezed one off. Heard the unmistakable sound of impact on a body cavity so I knew I made contact.
What I didn’t realize at the time was the deer was not broadside, he still was facing his backside directly at me with only his head turned to the side, and the spot I aimed thinking was his vitals ended up being right in his corn hole, unintentionally giving this deer the ol Texas heart shot.
Because of the shot placement, I found no blood or sign at impact sight so I backed out and called a dog.
Huge thanks to Trevor and Bo coming out to help with the recovery and leading me right to this south Florida stud.

They certainly grow em bigger out west. First mule deer. Would’ve loved a larger and more mature animal, but hard to complain when there’s 250+lbs laying on the ground and a departure time fast approaching.

First conservation goose hunt was a memorable one. Good hunting with great people.
