Our kids are growing up in a world with more noise, more input, and more pressure coming at them than ever before.
And we can’t remove all of that for them.
But we can give them opportunities to slow down, notice what’s happening inside themselves, make choices, work through hard things, and learn to trust their own voice.
That’s a big part of what we’re building at Mindset Movement Academy.
Because one day, we won’t be standing beside them for every decision. What matters is that when that day comes, they know how to listen to themselves, trust what they know, and find their own way forward.

Have you ever noticed that once you start looking for something, you suddenly seem to see it everywhere? 👀
Our brains are constantly taking in far more information than we can consciously pay attention to at once. One of the systems involved in this is the Reticular Activating System, or RAS, which helps bring certain information forward while other things fade into the background. 🧠
In MindPower, kids don’t just hear about these ideas through stories. They get to experience them for themselves.
We bring the concept to life with a scavenger hunt. They’re given specific things to look for, and off they go, searching, moving, laughing, and spotting the things on their list. 🔎
Then we flip it around. 🤸♀️
“Did you notice the random object that was sitting there the whole time?”
Sometimes they did. A lot of the time, they didn’t.
It wasn’t hidden. It simply wasn’t what they were looking for.
And that’s when the conversation gets really interesting. 💡
What we focus our attention on can influence what we notice, what stands out to us, and what we may completely overlook.
It’s one of my favorite ways to make brain science something kids can actually see, feel, and experience, rather than just hear about.
What we look for, we notice more of.
Follow along for more kid-friendly brain science, mindset ideas, and activities that help kids understand how their minds work. ✨

What if some of the most important skills we can give kids aren’t academic at all? 💛
Every day, kids are forming beliefs about themselves and what they’re capable of. They’re also developing patterns for how they respond when something feels hard, unfamiliar, or doesn’t go as planned.
Mindset skills can shape how kids approach learning and challenges, how they build confidence, and what they believe is possible.
That’s the heart behind MindPower, our upcoming 6-week series at Mindset Movement Academy. ✨
MindPower introduces kids to mindset skills and simple brain science through stories, movement, games, hands-on experiences, and creative art, making big ideas relatable, memorable, and fun.
Throughout the series, children will explore:
🧠 The Power of the Mind
Exploring the conscious and subconscious mind, how beliefs can form, and how our thoughts and beliefs can influence us.
✨ Possibility Thinking
Questioning limiting beliefs and opening up to new possibilities.
💭 Visualization & Neural Pathways
Discovering how visualization, practice, and repetition can help the brain build and strengthen new connections.
🔎 The Brain’s RAS
Learning how the RAS helps our brain sort through information, like a personal radar, and how what we focus on can influence what we notice.
🌱 Power Shifting
Exploring how a new perspective can change an experience.
These may sound like big concepts, but we make them kid-friendly, hands-on, and fun, so even younger kids can begin to understand them.
They move. They play. They create. Through stories, games, simple experiments, hands-on activities, and art, the learning is woven into all of it, making big ideas something kids can experience, explore, and have fun with.
Along the way, kids begin connecting these ideas to real-life moments, like what they tell themselves when something feels difficult, what they notice and focus on, and how changing the way they look at something can open up new possibilities.
MindPower helps kids better understand how their minds work while practicing mindset skills they can carry with them as they grow.
Because these aren’t just skills for childhood.
They’re skills for life. 💛

Are you looking for a place where your child can move, create, laugh, make friends, and try something new each week? 🎨🤸♀️✨️
At Mindset Movement Academy, those interests come together in one playful homeschool enrichment experience.
Children enjoy hands-on art projects, movement and yoga, interactive games, imaginative stories, creative challenges, and time to build genuine connections with their group.
Along the way, they’re also exploring meaningful life skills: believing in themselves, using positive self-talk, making thoughtful choices, showing courage, working with others, and continuing to try when something feels challenging.
It’s personal growth brought to life through movement, creativity, stories, and play, not worksheets or long lectures.
Children get the space to strengthen their confidence and inner compass while still doing what childhood should include plenty of: laughing, creating, moving, imagining, and having fun. 🌿
