Don’t despair Floridians, October is coming and the weather will be more temperate. September in Florida is like a muddy March in the north. Cabin fever is real. Exercise will elevate your mood along with encouraging self talk.

More and more research supporting the mind body connection. Strong mind strong body; strong body; strong mind. Healthy eating and exercising is as important as brushing your teeth.
August and September can be very difficult months for Floridians. It is our “cabin fever” months due to the heat and humidity. In addition we do not have Gulf waters or a beach to escape too due to Red Tide. What to do during these months: 1) Go walking before 9 am or after 7 pm. Wear dry fit clothing to keep comfortable. 2) Escape to one of Florida’s natural springs for cool algae free waters. 3) Learn to love time in a Gym of your choice 4) Volunteer during the day light hours. Ensure that you keep your exercise activity high to increase your dopamine and endorphins to ward off depression, anxiety, and to help yourself concentrate and focus when needed.
