One day your child will face something that doesn't come easily.
Maybe it's a difficult class. A tough conversation. A job interview. A setback they never saw coming.
In those moments, they won't need to remember how often they won. They'll need to remember what it felt like to keep going when things were hard.
Discipline isn't built on perfect attendance or endless motivation. It's built in the ordinary moments. The days they don't feel like coming to class but show up anyway. The technique that takes ten tries before it finally clicks. The decision to stand back up after falling short.
Those small moments become habits. Those habits become confidence. And that confidence follows them far beyond the mat.
Because the goal was never to raise the best martial artist.
It's to help raise a child who knows they can face hard things and keep moving forward.

Some families spend their evenings on the sidelines. Others spend them on the mat.
Cheering each other on.
Laughing through the tough techniques.
High fives after class.
Watching confidence grow one lesson at a time.
That's what Clark's has always been about.
Derrick started Clark's because he loves martial arts and wanted to share that passion with others. Today, that same heart is still at the center of every class.
Come see what makes Clark's feel a little different.

Self-Defense That Actually Feels Doable - Good Neighbor Podcast: Sarasota
Most people say they want to feel safer, but they hesitate the second they hear “mixed martial arts.” It sounds intense, exclusive, and geared for athletes only. We get it, and that’s why we loved talking with Abigail Altier, a student at Clark Se...

Every black belt started with one class.
A nervous walk through the front door. An encouraging instructor who believes in you. That's what you'll find at Clark's.
Not pressure to compete. Not pressure to be the best in the room.
Just a place where students are encouraged, challenged, and taught real self defense by someone who truly loves sharing martial arts with others.
If you've been thinking about trying a class, we'd love to welcome you onto the mat.

Thank you Rolando from Perez Martial Arts in Medfield, MA for letting us introduce the GRIP keychain to your students. We had a great turn out for the seminar and students really enjoyed it. What a great group!

Kids don’t just need to sit still and listen all day.
They need movement that uses their whole body.
They need challenges that feel just a little hard at first.
They need opportunities where effort actually leads to success they can see and feel.
Martial arts checks all three.
On the mat, kids learn how to move with purpose, push through frustration, and keep going even when something doesn’t click right away. And then one day… it does.
That moment of “I got it” changes everything.
At Clark’s Self Defense in Sarasota, we see it every day. Kids walk in unsure, and slowly start standing taller, focusing longer, and trusting themselves more.

Very proud of our students today! We had a great practice session at the hotel before the Black Belt test. They looked solid and ready. We all met at the Kenpo Martial Arts Center in Dedham, MA for the test. Both did fantastic and received their new ranks! Congratulations to both of you!
