Happy Valentine's Day! We had our 18th Annual Valentine's Day practice..."life is like a box of chocolates..." Tomorrow we have our home opener and first ever NCAA competition in the new McCaffery-Wagman Tennis Center. We square off vs. the Wellesley Blue tomorrow at 3pm. Go Thoroughbreds!

Skidmore Alum, Maya Lal ('23), will be representing Team ALS at the United Airlines NYC Marathon next month. Maya's father was diagnosed with ALS four years ago and fights it to this day, along with millions of others suffering from the disease. Maya will be running on his behalf to raise money for the organization to continue research and to help families with resources and tools they'll need to navigate the disease. Maya will be running many steps to complete the 26.2 miles, but this cause will get the world one step closer to a cure for ALS.

2025 United Airlines NYC Half: Mayavathi Lal - ALS United Greater New York I am running for Team ALS as this is a cause that’s very close to my heart. My dad was diagnosed with ALS about 4 years ago, and he’s still fighting today as the fighter he is.

It's finally here. It's officially open. The Skidmore tennis programs now have one of the top college tennis facilities in the country. Players hit on it for the first time yesterday and moved into their new locker room. No photos of the teams hitting allowed since we're still in the off-season (NCAA rules), but we'll have photos of our first official practice next week. Exciting times for the tennis programs, and more excitement ahead for sure!

Skidmore's McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center opens - Skidmore College Athletics Skidmore College has completed construction on its new McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center, which is now open to all Skidmore community members and brings together all aspects of student health and wellness support in a single, unified space.

We’re just a few weeks away. Doors officially open January 21!

Skidmore well represented on the ITA fall rankings. Konika Dhull/Grace Truong will go into the spring as the #14 ranked doubles team in the country ( #3 in the Northeast Region), and Konika is ranked #29 in the country in singles. She is #8 in the Northeast, and Ella Provost came in as the #20 ranked player in the Northeast.

The start of an era and the end of an era. As we move into our new home next month, we say goodbye to our old “home away from home” for many years at the YMCA of Saratoga. Our last practice on these courts in the books. Many memories in this facility. Thank you to the YMCA of Saratoga-Wilton Branch for being great partners with our programs all of these years. The programs could not have been as successful as they’ve been without your partnership the last 40+ years. Former players/parents/fans: leave your favorite memory here at the Y in the comments.

A few more photos as things finish up in the next month or so. The team got their first peek of their new home. Yes, that is Skidmore Women’s Tennis FIRST EVER locker room. No more lugging our racquets and equipment to classes and across campus before and after practices! Indoor scoreboard is up too!

Facility Update: 10/24/24 - We're getting close. We're getting real close. Court surface is down, spectating/conference room is nearly done, lockers rooms are getting finished, outside is getting final work and landscaping installed. We're getting excited!

We did it! We made our goal. Awesome. Thank you to everyone who contributed. FOSA is what links all student-athletes (former and current), parents, friends, relatives, fans to one community and cause under Skidmore pride, so your contributions keep that pride alive and well. There's still time to give though. Remember, all contributions go directly to our program to help with the team's yearly expenses, which are ever increasing (buses alone went up 30%!).
