Adirondack Board Sailing Club for windsurfers / kitesurfers

The season has been a good one and is not over yet. Here are some shots from Fall sailing in the ADKs

The photos are all of Sacandaga from the period between 2004 and 2009. In the mix of sailors are Lou, Gary,Bob Laurence,Paul,Chuck,Dan, Tim,Tom,Ephraim,Dutch, and no doubt a few more. If you recognize the sails you had or the board or helmet feel free to put a name to the picture. These were good Sacandaga days with 4.5m to 8m sailing and often a trip to the C&R afterwards for a burger and beer. Time spent with comrades on the water is good time indeed.

Thought I would put up this link to a blast from the past. For a number of years in the 2000s the ABC and Montreal club-APVM co sponsored a windsurf clinic at Plattsburgh City Beach at the beginning of July. We had great times and many volunteers made these weekends a memorable experience for all. The Burlington Surf Club continues the tradition on the other side of the lake.

The ABC has a Hatteras house in Rodanthe with room still available from 4/27 to 5/11. The house has a private sound front beach. it is still too early to think about sailing in the waters of any Adirondack lake, but it is not too early to start thinking about sailing. I have a house in Cape Hatteras from April 27 to May 11 this year. Coincidentally Andy Brant is giving an ABK windsurf, wing foil and wind foil clinic from May 6 through the 10th .Get in touch if you are interested in securing a spot in the house and or clinic.

The waters have warmed and the winds returned for another season in the Adirondacks. Saratoga Lake ,Sacandaga, Champlain and many others are ready to welcome us back. There have been a number of requests for windsurfing lessons from interested people . The ABC does not have a set up for lessons ,but the nearest teaching club to our area does.
