Irish Empress ran her first race in a 5 1/2 furlong dirt race at Saratoga on 7/15, finishing 4th in that maiden race. Hope she comes out well and they used the race to prep her for a turf start later in the meet. She looked terrific as these photos show - fun to see Jellybean all grown up.

Retirement suits Showalittlefaith very well - many thanks to new owner Kristen who shared photos of him rolling and then all cleaned up afterward. Very happy to see how well cared for this guy is - hope it makes your day as well.

Winner of yesterday’s 2nd race at Gulfstream Park, Forty Smooth, was winning for the 3rd time in 9 starts. The beautiful Upstart-Irishtocat filly looked like a runner when born in 2018. Claimed by a NY outifit, we’re hoping she comes back and earns us some breeders’ rewards running in NY. Congrats to her past and new connections. Let’s go Forty Smooth.

Irishtocat has found a wonderful new home. With mixed emotions, we are sharing pictures of Irishtocat in her new home as she starts a new phase in her life as a riding horse. Many thanks to Cheryl and Michael for their efforts in making this connection and finding such a great home for her. This is the last horse Bliss is involved with after almost 20 years of racing and breeding. We wish our girl, full sister to the one who got it started for us - Bella Attrice, all the best in her new home.
Winner! Winner! Very excited to report Irishtocat’s Upstart filly - shown here as a newborn in 2018 - won by 4 lengths today (10/7/21) to break her maiden in a fine performance at Woodbine. Congratulations to Forty Smooth as she is now known, her owners, and to Irishtocat who produced this runner.
We look back to 2020 here when JoJo and “Jellybean” - our Classic Empire filly out of Strikealinethruit - got to know each other. While she didn’t sell well at this week’s sale as a yearling, we’ll be following the filly’s career and wishing her new owners all the best. Reports are they’ll have young trainer Natalia Lynch in charge - go Jellybean ( we could use some Breeders’ awards next year!) Good luck to all.

Babies, graduation and more! Not a horse family update this time, but we’re thrilled to welcome Riley to the family! A first grandchild for Colleen, Joe, Joni, and Mac - Kelly and Sean are rightfully happy with their filly ( had to sneak the horse reference in somewhere). Cousins JoJo and Angelina “never had a baby before” and were so excited to meet her. To top it off, JoJo graduated from kindergarten on 6/21 (her other cousin’s birthday - happy b-day, Melissa). So lots to celebrate. Wishing the best to you and yours this summer!
