Final athlete update of the summer! This summer rising sophomore Liv Stortz has been working at Target, a local ice cream & BBQ shop, and assisting with training horses. For this coming season, Liv is most excited for practicing with the team and learning more about sailing! Go tritons!

Athlete update! This summer rising sophomore Eden Nykamp has been coaching at the MBJA Sailing School in Macatawa, Michigan. She has coached the Opti race team and done championship event coaching at regional regattas. Eden has also been a part of a local women’s cycling team, focusing on long distance endurance racing. For the coming season, Eden is looking forward to coming back to Eckerd and meeting new team members. Stay tuned for more updates!

Athlete update! This summer rising junior Ethan Godfrey has been teaching 420 intermediate and helping as an opti and 420 race coach at Beverly Yacht Club. Outside of teaching, Ethan has been racing on Wednesday nights in the yacht club’s PHRF series and Thursday nights in the J80 fleet. For this coming season, he is most excited to learn more from our new head coach Caroline Young. Keep following along for more updates!

Athlete update! Rising junior Brooks Jordan is working as a lifeguard/EMT on Martha’s Vineyard. He’s sailing c420’s out of the Edgartown Yacht Club. Brooks is looking forward to good competition this up coming season. Stay tuned for more updates about our sailors!

Another athlete update! Rising sophomore Amelia Johnson is working on the schooner Woodwind as one of the crew members. She loves it because it’s a great way to get out on the water everyday. Amelia is most excited for doing more women’s events this coming year! Stay tuned for more updates!

Second athlete update! Rising sophomore Griffin Richardson is coaching at the Severn Sailing Association Junior Program. He’s teaching the Beginner Opti courses. Griffin is also racing on a Viper 640 and his dad's Shock 35. He also plans on sailing in the Olivia Constants Team Race Regatta. He is most excited for growth as a team and to excel our skills to hopefully sail at Nationals this coming year!

Another amazing regatta for assistant coach Caroline Young!! Today was the second day of the RS Aero 5 World Championships at Cascade Locks, Oregon. She overtook to be top female! Way to go Caroline!

First athlete update of the summer! Rising sophomore Lily Schwartz is coaching at the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club Sailing Program. She’s teaching the 420 and opti race team, also helping with the learn to sail opti classes. In her free time, Lily is sailing on her Tartan 30 with her family and racing her Interlake with her dad at local regattas. For the fall season, Lily is most excited to take what she has learned coaching a race team and put it to use in college sailing. Follow along for more updates from our sailors and coaches!
