The Rhythms of Nature
The world around us is shifting. Nature is quickening its pace, the days are expanding, and the warmth of summer is beginning to settle into the earth. Yet, as the external world moves faster, our inner landscape may not be entirely ready to match its speed.
At Lila Yoga & Wellness, we believe in moving with the seasons, not against them. As we cross the threshold into summer, Ayurveda invites us into the practice of langhana—the art of lightening, cooling, and creating space. When the external heat rises, our internal practice calls for a soothing pause.
In our small-group therapeutic sessions, we are slowing down to honor this transition. Let us help your body and mind adapt gently to the season ahead.

The Art of the Sacred Interval
In music, it is the silence between the notes that creates the melody. In our lives, it is the pause between our efforts that creates the meaning.
We often feel the pressure to constantly "do"—to stretch further, hold longer, and achieve more. But there is a profound wisdom in the moments when we choose to simply be. This intentional quiet isn't a gap in your practice; it is the practice.
Stepping back allows the nervous system to settle and the spirit to recalibrate. By honoring the need to pause, you aren't falling behind—you are gathering the steady energy needed for the path ahead. Whether it’s taking an extra breath in child’s pose or choosing a day of complete restorative rest, trust the pace of your own journey.
The sanctuary is always within you, waiting for you to arrive.

At Lila Yoga & Wellness we offer yoga therapy for adults and teens. Yoga Therapy for ages 12–18 at Lila Yoga & Wellness is rooted in compassion, presence, and the belief that every teen deserves to feel seen, supported, and gently guided through life’s transitions. We offer a nurturing space for adolescents experiencing depression, anxiety, and emotional challenges, honoring each teen exactly as they are. Available in both 1:1 sessions and small groups with individualized practices, this work is more personal than a traditional yoga class — thoughtfully tailored to support emotional and mental well-being while fostering a quiet sense of belonging.
Through gentle movement, breath regulation, mindfulness, and deep rest, yoga therapy helps calm the nervous system, soften emotional intensity, and cultivate resilience, self-awareness, and inner steadiness. Our intention is to walk beside each teen with care, offering lifelong tools that help them reconnect to their own strength, wisdom, and heart.

Yoga Therapy vs. Yoga Teacher: What’s the Difference?
Yoga offers many paths to healing—but not all yoga is the same.
Yoga Teacher
A yoga teacher is trained to guide group classes and offer safe, balanced sequences for general well-being. Their focus is on movement, breath, and creating a supportive group experience. Yoga teachers are skilled at:
• Leading classes for all levels
• Teaching poses and alignment
• Cultivating mindfulness and breath awareness
• Supporting general health, strength, and ease
Yoga teachers hold foundational training (usually 200–500 hours) that prepares them to lead classes for a wide range of students.
Yoga Therapist
A yoga therapist is trained to work with individuals on a deeper, more specialized level. They blend traditional yoga practices with a clinical understanding of the body, mind, and nervous system. Yoga Therapists complete advanced training through a recognized program (such as IAYT) and may also have backgrounds in healthcare or mental health.
A yoga therapist is skilled at:
• Creating personalized practices for specific health conditions (physical, emotional, or medical)
• Working in partnership with your medical team (especially during cancer treatment or chronic illness)
• Using breathwork, movement, meditation, and lifestyle tools to support healing
• Helping you navigate symptoms such as pain, fatigue, anxiety, depression, trauma, or grief
Yoga Therapy is one-on-one, individualized, and deeply tailored. It meets you exactly where you are—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Which One Is Right for You?
If you’re looking to move your body, build strength, and join a community class, a yoga teacher is a wonderful guide.
If you are managing a health condition, healing from injury or illness, experiencing emotional challenges, or seeking a more supported and therapeutic approach, a yoga therapist offers a safe, customized pathway toward ease and healing.

The Heart of Langhana
Summer often arrives with a rush of fiery energy, but true alignment comes from balance. If you are feeling a bit overwhelmed or physically unready for the sudden shift in weather, you are not alone.
Through the wisdom of Ayurveda, we look to langhana during the high-heat months. Langhana means to reduce, pacify, and soothe. It is a intentional return to simplicity, focusing on the condition of the heart and the quiet depth of the breath. It is the medicine of cooling down when the world invites you to burn bright.
Our seasonal offerings at Lila are crafted to support your body's natural wisdom, cultivating an internal ecosystem that feels spacious, grounded, and cool.
Join us on the mat to experience the restorative power of a seasonal practice. 🤍
