It’s high school awards season for Spring Sports. We’ll kick things off with the Sawyer Girls Lacrosse!

Congratulations girls!

Congratulations to this year’s Mid-Hudson Athletic League (MHAL) Senior Scholar Athlete Award recipients, Regan Kavanagh and Matthew Dolan! They were both recognized during a breakfast on May 28.

Regan ranked 5th in her class and was a standout student-athlete in basketball, soccer, and track & field. She served as a leader in discus and competed in Soccer Sectionals. Regan is also a member of the National Honor Society, Student Government, and Wind Ensemble, and earned both the Seal of Civic Readiness and the Seal of Biliteracy. She plans to attend the Rochester Institute of Technology to study Mechanical Engineering Technologies.

Matthew ranked 6th in his class and competed in Cross Country and Track & Field. He served as Captain of the Cross Country team and qualified for Regionals. Matthew is a member of the National Honor Society, Vice President of Key Club, and a member of Student Government. He plans to attend the University of Maryland to study Mechanical Engineering.

We congratulate Regan and Matthew on this outstanding achievement and wish them continued success in the future!

First up the #1 Seeded Girls Softball team takes on Marlboro at Mt St. Mary’s College in Newburgh

Then @12:30 the Boys Lacrosse team travels to FDR High School in Hyde Park to take on Highland for the title! Saugerties Central School District

Congratulations to Sawyer Sophomore Kate Smith on winning the girls sectional golf championship earlier this week. Kate shot 68 & 75 to win by 9 shots! She now heads to Wild Wood Country Club in the town of Rush to compete in the State Championships!
