The response since our first post last week has been amazing. Thank you to everyone who has reached out. Because this will be such a large project, and will only be possible with the help of alot of people, we will be sure to keep posting updates as we go along.

We are ONLY TWO yearbook photos away from having every season accounted for. Once we have all the photos, we can begin to puzzle together how many and which jerseys we will need. We are still looking for the hockey team's photo from the yearbooks 1986 and 2023. If you know of anyone who has those, please ask them to take a photo of the hockey team's picture and send it to this page, or Tim Ellis's page. Just two more, and we can move on to the next phase of this project. Thank you!

PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT:

Hello. This is Tim Ellis, President of the Sault High Blue Devil Hockey Board. I am about to start a large project that is needed and deserved to highlight and remember the past of Blue Devil Hockey. For today's players to be reminded of those who wore the Blue Devil Jersey proudly before them. The ones who paved the way!

We are in search of every rendition of BDH jerseys from the beginning in 1972 to the current one. Once collected, we will have them framed and displayed in the locker room so that every BDH team is reminded daily of the rich history of this program. With this project, we will be looking for a lot of help from fans and the public.

To begin with, we are going through every Sault High Yearbook to see the team pictures for reference of that year's jerseys. Thank you to Heather Klever for her enormous help with this already. There are a few years we still need. Eight to be exact. If anyone in the community has a copy of any of these years, please message this page or me directly. I will leave the link to my page in the comments if you care to reach out that way. We will need to get a picture of the BDH team from that year. The years needed are: 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1978, 1986, 1993, and 2023.

Secondly, we know that many years will be covered by the same jerseys worn for multiple years. Our biggest need for the public is getting these jerseys. If you or someone you know has one and is willing to donate or sell for a reasonable price to the program for this project, please private message this page or my page directly.

This one is going to take a while, but it is something we believe in and will see it through with your help! Thank you for helping to keep the history of Blue Devil Hockey alive and well! BDH Pride!

UPDATE:
We have received three of the yearbooks needed. We still need 1973, 1974, 1975, 1986, 2023. Once we have all the pictures, we will be able to piece together how many different jerseys we are looking for.

🚨 ATTENTION PLAYERS 🚨

We’re excited to announce that our 2026 summer schedule has officially been finalized! Please keep the following important notes in mind for this off-season training:

• A $70 fee will be collected at the first skate on July 7 @ Big Bear Arena.
• All open gym sessions will take place in the SAHS weight room.
• Players must wear proper workout attire to all off-ice activities (gym shoes, shirt, and shorts).

Coach Calder will meet with players at SAHS on May 19 @ 2:15 PM to review the off-season schedule and expectations.

🏒 We’re excited to announce Ashton Calder as our new Head Hockey Coach!

A Sault Michigan Hockey Association alum, Ashton advanced to the NCAA and professional ranks, building an impressive résumé along the way. During his collegiate career, he earned WCHA All-Rookie Team, WCHA All-Second Team, 2021 WCHA Playoff Most Valuable Player, All-American Scholar recognition, and was a Hobey Baker Award nominee. He also helped lead his teams to both the Jeff Sauer WCHA Championship and the NCHC Penrose Championship.

At the professional level, Ashton was part of the 2023 ECHL Kelly Cup Championship team before signing in the AHL with the Bridgeport Islanders. He concluded his career in the New York Islanders organization, where he was named Most Offensive Player for the Worcester Railers.

Off the ice, Ashton is committed to giving back through his Calder Hockey Academy, helping develop young athletes while sharing the life lessons the game has given him.
