In Honor of our beloved Anthony and to carry on his legacy we decided to host a DreamChaser basketball tournament. DreamChaser was an expression Anthony frequently used when he spoke about his future. He would often mention how he was “chasing after his dream to complete high school, attend college and play basketball.”

PURPOSE
The mission of the Anthony Woods, Jr. DreamChaser Memorial Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to high school students desiring to continue their education at a college or technical school.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

The Anthony Woods, Jr. DreamChaser Memorial Scholarship awards scholarships on the basis of a comprehensive process. Areas that are reviewed by the committee include, but are not limited to the following: academic accomplishments, community service, letters of recommendation, and financial need. The Anthony Woods, Jr. DreamChaser Memorial Scholarship pays scholarship funds directly to the recipient’s school.

CRITERIA

Applicants must have permanent residence status in Savannah, GA.
Applicants must be completing or have completed high school successfully with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Applicants must be accepted as a full time student at a college or technical school of your choice.


SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE:

Completed application form.
Two letters of recommendation. One should be from a guidance counselor or teacher.
Proof of acceptance at an academic, vocational or technical school for post-secondary studies.
Demonstrated financial need.
