Day 7 : Cooking!

Okay, not really "exercise". Yesterday, baby and I went grocery shopping and the blackberries and apples were on sale so I HAD to make some of our favorite dishes for Easter. 🐰🐣

I got all of this done during naptime, which sure felt like exercise!

This was my first time trying Cosmic Crisp apples and they were SO good! Sweet and crisp with just the right amount of tartness. My new favorite! What is your favorite apple? 🍎🍏

Day 3 : Myofascial release

When I got pregnant, I immediately noticed that all of my muscles seemed tighter. Nine months of growing a baby and ten months of sleeping in chairs, on floors, curled around a baby and sprawled out in exhaustion have not done a great deal for my mobility. While getting more consistent with my Pilates practice had finally started to open me up, the last month of neglect has really sent me backwards.

My biggest fitness goals for this year are to increase my strength and mobility. What are yours?

MOVE WITH ME! πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈπŸ’•

Happy Friday! πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ

Our baby fell HARD into his 10 month sleep regression in February/March. For a MONTH. 🫠 You guys... I have been LISTLESS. I could barely get through the day and neither could he! We finally got through it and, of course, immediately got sick! We are not 100% yet but I have to get myself moving again because it is SO EASY to skip workouts in favor of tidying up, cooking, even just sitting and scrolling during naptime!

I am going to set the bar real low for April and just GET MOVING! Movement can be anything: a walk, a resistance/cardio workout, a swim, yoga, dancing etc. I am just trying to get back into the groove of things.

Our breakfast yesterday πŸ₯° Swipe to see my little master chef searching for the perfect ingredients!

There are definitely better recipes out there but this is how I chose to make this yesterday and it was DELICIOUS. 😘

EASY Shakshuka:
1/2-1 onion
1 bell pepper
2 tomatoes
1 clove garlic
(it is OKAY to use a can of diced tomatoes and a can of rotel if you are short on time, veggies or extra limbs! 😘πŸ€ͺ I had to do this yesterday)
1tsp Cumin
1tsp smoked paprika
(if not using fresh):
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Cook everything down (15-20 min) and crack your eggs into the sauce. I leave uncovered for about 10min and then cover for a minute or two to get the egg white on top of the yolk. If you guys learn the secret to perfect broiled eggs over easy then let me know πŸ˜‚ I am always over cooking them!

I also made Zatarans red beans and rice and just followed the directions on the box. :)

I don't always make boujie breakfasts but I do always wish for them! πŸ˜‚
