In 1983, 45 tough-minded runners braved 100 miles of high-altitude, extreme Rocky Mountain terrain â starting at 10,200 feet, climbing to 12,600 feet and running into global endurance history. Today, the Life Time Leadville Trail 100 RUN presented by La Sportiva is one of the oldest, most storied endurance running events in the world. Whether you're there to participate or spectate, it's an experience for the ages.
That's why Life Time Foundation athlete and ultrarunner, Barbara Powell, packed up her Subaru Forester and drove just under 1,000 miles to move from her home in Minneapolis, MN., to Alma, CO to spend her last 5 months of training at altitude. We are pleased to share upcoming improvements we're making Life Time Schaumburg, keeping with our commitment to continue delivering the best experiences, programs and team.
Here's what happening:
- The Alpha training area will be redone and expanded to include 5 new half racks (10 total).
- The GTX space will be expanded.
- The cardio, resistance, free weight and advanced training areas will be refreshed with some new, state-of-the-art equipment, while also relocating many additional pieces of equipment across the workout floor.
This work will begin Friday, July 14 with expected completion Thursday, August 10. We are committed to taking every measure to minimize disruptions to your in-club experience during this time.
