REMINDER

Be sure to come to dance class this week to work up your appetite for Thanksgiving! We have classes Monday thru Wednesday, Nov. 21st thru Nov. 23rd, and on Saturday, Nov. 26th.

It was a blast seeing everyone all dressed up for Halloween Week! Thanks to everyone that participated and a huge shout out to all the families that came to enjoy Watch Week, too.

👻 Let's get SPOOKtacular and faBOOlous...It's Halloween Week! Monday, October 24th - Saturday, October 29th everyone can get dressed up in their dance-able Halloween costume or old dance costume. Please wear your dance clothes under your costumes and be sure you can move and dance for class.

📷 Tomorrow is also our first Watch Week of the new dance season! All families are welcome to come watch, video, and take photos of their dancers in costumes during classes. We cannot wait to show you what we've been working on...

I Want My MTV 90's Throwback Camp was an awesome end to our summer camps!

We warmed up with the Macrena, made some MTV shirts, mixed in some music trivia, and learned why *NSYNC still is Tearin Up My Heart. 😉

I Want My MTV 80's Throwback Camp was an absolute blast!

We had a blast at our first ever mini summer camp. Thank you to everyone that came to party with us. We hope you had fun making bracelets, coloring, dancing, and learning more ways to be a good friend and spread more kindness.

Ronald Kirshenbaum Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

It is with great sadness that we share the news that Ms. Karyn's Dad, Ron Kirshenbaum, passed away last Tuesday. Ron was born and raised in Chicago and served in the United States Army in the 1960s. He passed away peacefully at 81 years old, and will be greatly missed by Ms. Karyn, his family, friends, and his little dog, Maude.

For anyone interested, the Visitation is Saturday, August 6th from 11:00am-12:00pm followed by a Memorial Service beginning at 12:00pm at Countryside Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1640 Greenmeadows Blvd., Streamwood, IL. We have included a weblink with more details below, for anyone that would like to share their condolences via the online guest book or attend in person.

To everyone that has reached out to Ms. Karyn during this difficult time, she would like to thank you. She genuinely appreciates all your kind words, thoughts, and prayers. It means more than you know! Ron - we're so glad you are no longer in pain, and wish you peace. May your memory live on in the hearts of all that knew you. Just remember that it's not goodbye, it's see you later.

As this dance season is coming to a close, we wanted to take a moment to recognize the Dooley sisters! Dani, Mia and Molly Dooley are this year’s recipient of the Erika Wilson Memorial Dance Scholarship. For those of you that may not know, Erika Wilson grew up dancing at our studio and continued taking classes as an adult. She also enrolled her daughter at our studio at a young age. Unfortunately, we lost our beloved dance sister, in the summer of 2018. This scholarship was created by her family in honor of Erika’s memory, her passion for dance, and her love for being a part of Dorothy’s Dancing Unlimited and our dance family.

This dance scholarship covers tuition for one student/family for up to 3 classes a week for the entire dance season. The recipient of this award must demonstrate a love for dance, a desire to learn, be enrolled in multiple classes, have good attendance, and strongly displays that they enjoy their time at the studio as well as the experience. They must have taken one full year of classes the previous year, from September to June, and must have participated in recital. The scholarship is open to everyone of any gender or age, as long as the one year of dance requirement at the Dorothy’s Dancing Unlimited studio has been met. The student must be enrolled at Dorothy’s Dancing Unlimited for the September thru June season for the scholarship award period in order to be selected.

The recipient of this scholarship is chosen by the scholarship fund donator, Jacob Wilson and MIss Karyn, owner. There were many wonderful candidates, but the 2021-2022 recipient of the Erika Wilson Memorial Dance Scholarship goes to Dani, Mia, and Molly Dooley!

The Dooley Sisters work extremely hard, and always gives 100% in every class. Dani, Mia, and Molly are always full of energy and look forward to coming to dance classes at the studio. This year the girls all pushed themselves to try different styles of dance and embraced new skills and choreography. Each of the girls brings something special to the stage. We're so excited to see their big smiles light up the stage this year. Congratulations Dani, Mia, and Molly!

Congratulations to our Graduating Senior, David! 🤩

We wish David the best of luck this weekend and in his future as he goes off to the University of Kentucky! We've enjoyed having him as a part of our dance family and enjoyed watching David grow as a person and as a dancer.

Thanks for dancing with us all these years, David! We really hope you soak in every moment of being on stage.

May dance live on in your heart, and may you fondly remember your time with us always. As Ms. Dorothy always says, it is never goodbye but see you soon. ❤️
