There are SO many reasons NOT to waste any pitch! Yes - you want to throw the ball out of the zone when you're ahead, but you WANT the batter to swing! You WANT to get an out on an 0-2 pitch, preferably a weak contact out. Don't give batters any more of advantage than you have to by throwing more pitches.
