🥋 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE FOUNDER 🥋

Today we honor Grandmaster Carlos Gracie Sr. born September 14, 1902 in Belém do Pará, Brazil.
Without him, there's no us. No mats, no gis, no "aha" moment when a smaller person taps a bigger one. Carlos took what he learned from Japanese Ju-Jutsu and, alongside his brother Hélio, built something that gave EVERYONE a fighting chance leverage over strength, technique over size.
That's the same philosophy we teach every single class. 👊
Every roll, every stripe, every belt promotion traces back to one guy who refused to accept that size determines outcome.

🥋 5 YEARS AT SCITUATE HARBOR 🥋

Five years ago, we opened our doors on Scituate Harbor with a mat, a dream, and a whole lot of heart. This October 4th, we're celebrating five years of Gracie Barra South Shore and the truth is, Scituate Harbor hasn't been the same since.

This isn't just our anniversary. It's yours too. To every family who trusted us with their kids, every student who showed up on the hard days, every parent cheering, and every South Shore neighbor who's become part of this crew thank you. You built this academy as much as we did.

Five years of blood, sweat, promotions, tears (the good kind), and a community that feels more like family every single day.
