Whether you’re new to climbing or trying to level up your movement efficiency, Pilates is one of the best cross-training tools you can add to your routine.

This Pilates sequence specifically builds the exact qualities climbers need:
• Core tension for body control on overhangs
• Shoulder stability for safer pulling strength
• Hip mobility for higher foot placements
• Balance and coordination for smoother movement efficiency

How to use it:
• Move slowly and with control
• Focus on breathing during each movement
• Prioritize alignment over speed
• Add this sequence 2–3 times per week alongside climbing sessions

Want guided training?
Scottsdale Community College Fitness & Wellness Center offers TWO mat Pilates classes every week, included with all memberships or available with a $5 day pass.

They move naturally, they move together.

In Blue Zones communities, walking with others isn’t exercise, it’s just part of life. And it’s linked to lower stress, stronger social ties, and longer, healthier lives.

Scottsdale Community College Fitness and Wellness Center brings that same idea to campus.

No pressure. No intensity. Just movement + community.

Even on hot days, we have a beautiful indoor walking track.
