Halfway through 2020 handicap check-in. Currently sitting at a 23 index with 8 rounds logged.
Before I joined the , I guessed my average score would come in right around 100 and so far it looks like I was pretty close in my estimation. 3 more months to lower my HI and knock out those ugly 104s!

My 2020 golf resolution is to take my game and my scores more seriously. I have never had an official handicap and frequently throw away rounds because I lose focus and motivation after a few bad holes. This year, that all changes. As of today, I’m officially an active member of the Chicago District Golf Association (). As a first time member, I hope the fact that every stroke matters against my index motivates me to stay focused and play more consistent. Here goes nothing! Are you a member of an official club or association?

Another week, another tournament. This week The Greatest Show on Grass () kicks off at . I’ve attended this tournament more than any other stops on tour and always leave it happy and hungover for days.

to a round almost 10 years ago at one of my favorite courses of all time, the late ASU Karsten in Tempe, AZ. This was taken on the 18th tee which was no slouch (~400 yards of water all along the right side of the hole). Sadly, this course closed in May to make room for other campus projects and & moved to What once was a springboard for legends such as , and countless others is now gone and college golf is worse for it. Did you ever get a round at Karsten?

In honor of starting this week, here’s a few pictures from my round south course back in October.
The course has just reopened after a lengthy renovation for the upcoming 2021 U.S. Open and it was in pretty rough shape. The rough was nonexistent and most of the holes had yet to recover from months of heavy machinery driving over them.
Nonetheless, the South course remains a magical place. The dramatic ocean views cannot be over stated and something you truly need to see to believe.
Regardless of skill level, if you have any window of opportunity to play here, take it.
