Maybee someone can explain to me the new wave style of goaltending. Because I dont get it. Some egghead figures out 70% of goal are scored down near the ice. So the whole goalie community takes this as the gospel. Pads are designed to cover the lower quadrant. And goalie are down on there knees before the shot is even taken. I watched a highlight reel of every goal Austin Matthews scored last year. Nearly every one the goalie is down and he shoots up. Easy. Now hes the first pure goal scorer to come down the pike in a while. But guys are going to follow his lead and start going for top shelf. And if your down on your knees that a near impossible save. But on your feet its an easy stop.
