Whatās more important than learning to ride?
Learning to keep horses ALIVE!
So often I find lesson programs that claim to cater to aspireing horse owners. Yet, they show you how to brush and talk about vet expences and board!
To truly understand what it takes to own a horse, you need to know what to do the other 23 hours of horse ownership. Plenty of equine PROFESSIONALS donāt even keep up with current science concerning a horseās health!
When we work with animals, we need to have their best interests in mind for more than the hour a day we ride them.
āļø Workout Wednesday!
Hereās one of my riding secrets! My seat is so good because my ābaseā aka my calves are strong! They help me keep my weight down in my sturrups or even without them for my !!

ā AI will never replace the job of a horse trainerā
And yet, for some things, it already has!
Iāve been thinking a lot lately about why it seems every trainer now āuses gentle but effective methodsā āfocuses on groundworkā and why I still get folks needing re-starts. Why I still get folks telling me they got completely scammed. Well, they arenāt actually describing the training they offer, theyāre seeing what advertising works and having a machine think for them.
I make an effort to write my social media posts (every last one including this one!) and ads. Because I train my horses, I know how I want my training described. I believe thereās no better skill for someone to have in any industry than critical thinking, creativity, and authenticity. I will not be taking any shortcuts in my advertising, outreach, or actions themselves!
Iāve always loved writing and Iāve always had unique ideas to share with those around me, so while I realize that Iāve fallen in to some of these clichĆ©s, I refuse to communicate in a way that lacks integrity and honestyļæ¼.
When I say I do lots of groundwork, that horse gets worked on the ground.
When I say I bring out the best in a horse, Iām speaking on my dedication to you and your equine partnerās horsemanship journey.
When I donāt post or I use super simple advertising, thatās because I donāt have the time to dedicate at the moment.
When I give advice, it comes from decades of passion that has brought me to where I am today.
Iām not trying to advise against working with trainers that use AI, we all get busy and need a little help sometimes. However, if someone canāt think on how to describe something, to me that speaks to a lack of desire and honesty. I want to know that when I take part in my own continued education, Iām working with someone that puts heart and soul in to what they do!
Below are the answers ChatGPT gave me for āhorse training adā Iāve certainly seen these floating around, and Iāll commonly use some of the wording in my own ads (ChatGPT sees the most commonly used phrases and steals them!)
What makes a āgood horsemanā? I have a lot of answers, but hereās just one of the many!
Workout Wednesday!
Today weāll do two streaches that help ypu keep the flow in your body as you ride!
Trust me⦠we try to keep them clean š¤¦āāļø
Tail Tips!
Helping your horses tail grow nice and long is simple! Hereās just a few of my tips! I use these on all my training horses as well!
āļø WORKOUT WED!
Work that upper body!- Youāre shoulders donāt just disapear when you get on a horse! Good posture that moves with a horse is an unquestioned requirement for good riding.
- In order to truly be the best we can be, we need balance! If you donāt do it for your riding, do it for the fact that youāll be more indipendant as you age and more capable getting your barn chores done!
šI created TPH because I was disappointed with a lot of the barns I worked at. Working with horses is about THE HORSE!
