There’s a multitude of reasons why you should avoid eating big meals right before a workout (20-30 minutes.)
First and foremost, digestion takes up a lot of energy, AND blood rushes to the stomach and intestines to provide the relevant systems with oxygen and transport the products of digestion.
So really, if you eat right before a workout, you’re robbing yourself of energy for performance and good pumps.
Second of all, a full stomach and a workout don’t go well together. Not only will you have less energy and less prominent pumps, but you will also feel more bloated, which is a no-no.
So, if you eat before a workout, make sure to leave a 2-hour window for the heaviest phases of digestion to pass!
"n the morning, one of the best things you can do for yourself is to eat a high-protein meal!
Such a meal will keep you fuller for longer and will allow you to go through your errands without thinking about food.
