Congratulations to Matt Polivka on winning the 2026 Southwest PGA Assistant Championship at Camelback GC.
Polivka, PGA Associate Professional at Anthem Golf & Country Club, finished the 36-hole Championship at 11-under par, 133. After sharing the opening round lead at 4-under, Polivka carded a 7-under 65 in the final round to win his second Southwest PGA Assistant Championship title.
Ryan Tombs, from Gainey Ranch Golf Club, and John-Michael Pilot, from Desert Mountain Club, finished tied as runners-up at 6-under, 138.
Polivka and Tombs (in a playoff) qualified for the National PGA Assistant Professional Championship, Nov. 12-15, at PGA Golf Club (Wanamaker Course) in Port St. Lucie, Florida 🌵 🏆 PGA of America

We are excited to be the host Section for the 2026 Senior PGA Professional Championship Oct. 22-25 at Superstition Mountain GCC.
Representing the Southwest PGA in their home Section will be Dean Vomacka, Jim Carter, J.D. Lindberg, Jerry Smith, Ralph West, Ross Farley and Gerry Norquist.
The top 35 finishers from the Senior PPC earn a spot in the 2027 Senior PGA Championship, April 15-18 at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida. 🌵 PGA of America
Congratulations to Dean Vomacka on winning the 2026 Southwest PGA Senior Championship/ PPC at Camelback GC.
Vomacka, PGA Director of Instruction at Omni Tucson National Resort & Spa, finished the 36-hole Championship at 5-under par, 139. He carded a 5-under in the final round to surpassed first round leader Jim Carter, who finished as the runner-up.
Vomacka, Carter, J.D Lindberg, Jerry Smith, Ralph West, Ross Farley and Gerry Norquist all qualified for the National PGA Senior Professional Championship, Oct. 22–25, at Superstition Mountain GCC. 🌵 🏆

Southwest PGA members Abby Parsons & Alex Priebe recently graduated from the PGA of America PGA Lead program.
PGA LEAD, established in 2016, is the Association’s leadership development program created to identify, mentor and progress PGA of America Members from a variety backgrounds along a guided path to volunteer leadership roles at the Chapter, Section and National levels of the PGA of America. The program also helps trainPGA of America Members who have a desire to serve on nonprofit boards in the communities where they work and live. 👏
