Day 138: Groundhog Day Revisited

"I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame."
Psalm 34: 4-5

Imagine yourself in the movie Groundhog Day and you must re-live the same day over and over again. And what if every single day you rounded a corner only to be hit squarely in the face by a baseball bat?

Each day you would hope things would be different and the guy with the bat wouldn't be there. But no, you'd get hit by that bat every single time.

That would be an appropriate metaphor for my life before recovery: I kept getting knocked in the head by my same old hurts, hang-ups and habits.

Finally, in recovery, I realized the path I was taking was not working, and it was time for a change. My pain had to become greater than my fear of change.

I finally got tired of the bloody noses and emotional bruises inflicted on me by my poor choices.

I had to come to grips with the truth that no matter how hard I tried, nothing was going to change until I changed my course and allowed Christ to fight for me.

We don't have to re-live these painful consequences over and over again. Pain may be inevitable in our lives, but walking into a baseball bat is not!

We can always choose to go another way.

"Heavenly Father, I surrender to you my bullheaded resistance to change. Show me how to walk away from the hurtful behavior of the past.

In Jesus' name, Amen."

Ignite the Fight within!

Time to apply the positive knowledge, apply Faith believing its possible and apply ACTION

Potential = Purpose = Passion

consistency and longevity are possible

It’s OK to not meet goals but it’s not OK to stop trying

Has anyone else ever thought that

instead of people places and things (PP and T) that are artificial in our lives

we need more PP and T that are art official?

Understand

Understand can be broken down into under and stand.

Stand under someone today, better yet let us stand under each person we meet every day.

let’s understand each other rather than judge each other.

It’s then we can begin to see hope, love, and peace and share it with the world 🌎.

3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

Christian or not we all have to laugh at this.

To be blameless, maybe we should blame less
