"How others act
is their path
and how you respond
is your power."
~You Are Luminous
We are very much affected by another's energy. The energy of a person walking into a room of people can change the energy of the room! Energy is that powerful! The dynamics of our interpersonal relationships are intricate and are perceived through the filter of our own experiences.
Self study, or in Sanskrit, svadhyaya, is the ability and practice of introspection and pausing to notice emotions and sensations that arise in the body. It's a an awareness of self as it relates to "others" and the realization that, while we are all like separate waves in the ocean, we all a part of the same body of water.
"Sometimes
the end
and the beginning
are the same place."

The secret of life
is there is no secret.
Remember
what you already know
and the truth
will no longer seem elusive.
Close your eyes,
soften your shoulders,
relax your grip,
breathe.
You are already here.
~Alchemy Yogi
Plant your intention,
like a seed,
when the mind is still
in the space between
the thoughts.
As water and sunshine
are to a growing seedling,
your attention is to the
intention you have set.
You are a human presence
of energy and light;
a powerful healer
wrapped up in an
earthly package.
Plant your intention,
feed it with gratitude ,
water it with your emotions,
nourish it with prayer
and let go of limiting
thoughts and beliefs.
The energy you put out
is the energy you’ll receive.
~Alchemy Yogi
If I asked you
to dance,
would you?
Remember…
You are a physical body
as much as you
are a spiritual body.
Take good care
of your physical body
and nurture
your spiritual body.
The difference between confidence and arrogance is the willingness to become a lifelong learner.

Whoever first said “Life isn’t always a bed of roses,” may be surprised how closely the words sum up the last Yama of Pantanjali’s 8 Limbs of Yoga, Aparigraha or non attachment.
Realize that change is the only constant thing we can expect in life. It’s a practice of not being attached to a feeling; instead fully experiencing the feeling in the moment. When feelings come up we initially associate with the negative, let them come up and realize these too will pass. It’s human nature to label an emotion as good or bad or as light or dark. Aparigraha teaches us to let go of those words that label and instead, meet and greet the sensations and emotions and become introspective without judgement.

“Do you believe in God?
Yes, she’s in the moon
and in the stars,
and all the rocks,
and every drop of rain,
and the earth itself.
How do you know God’s
in all these things?
When you realize the Soul
of the universe is in you,
you can suddenly see it
in everything else.”

"A true healer does not heal you; she simply reflects back to you your innate capacity to heal. She is a reflector, or a loving transparency. A teacher does not teach you; she does not see you as inherently separate from her, or less than her. She simply reflects back your own inner knowing, and reminds you of the vastness of your being. She is a mirror, a signpost. And love is the space in which all of this is possible; love heals, and we learn best in a loving field, no threat of failure, no punishment." ~ Jeff Foster
THE ART OF AGING GRACEFULLY
Think about it, you have EARNED this face.
Every line, a laugh shared.
Every wrinkle, a year survived.
Every age spot, a day that the sun shone on you.
Some women believe that as they age, they LOSE their looks. Oh my friends how wrong this is.
A beautiful young woman is a happy accident of nature but a beautiful older woman?
She is a work of art.
The Japanese have a practice whereby they fill any broken objects with gold, believing that something which is broken has earned its beauty and should be celebrated and decorated rather than discarded.
I feel this way about women.
It took a long time to find out who you really truly are. A long time. The acceptance that old age brings is freeing. It brings with it peace and happiness.
Everyone knows, happiness looks good on us all.
Your body has been changing since the day you were born and will continue till the day you depart. Ride with it, accept it, embrace it. Be amazed by it.
Allow your face to represent your life, your stories, your joys.
Why choose to be an older woman fervently chasing youth, when you could be that older women who knows what she is worth and has earned every minute of her hard-won self-acceptance.
The trick with ageing successfully my friend, is to pay as little attention to it as possible.

From ‘To The Woman”
As years go by,
use the challenges
you encounter
as lessons.
Whether the experience
when first encountered
is perceived as
“good” or “bad,”
try seeing life’s challenges
as opportunities
for spiritual growth.
Allow each line and scar
on your face and body
tell the story
of a woman
who perseveres,
who holds strong to her convictions,
who listens,
who is not afraid
to speak up,
and dissent.
She sat at the back and they said she was shy,
She led from the front and they hated her pride,
They asked her advice and then questioned her guidance,
They branded her loud, then were shocked by her silence,
When she shared no ambition they said it was sad,
So she told them her dreams and they said she was mad,
They told her they'd listen, then covered their ears,
And gave her a hug while they laughed at her fears,
And she listened to all of it thinking she should,
Be the girl they told her to be best as she could,
But one day she asked what was best for herself,
Instead of trying to please everyone else,
So she walked to the forest and stood with the trees,
She heard the wind whisper and danced with the leaves,
She spoke to the willow, the elm and the pine,
And she told them what she'd been told time after time,
She told them she felt she was never enough,
She was either too little or far far too much,
Too loud or too quiet, too fierce or too weak,
Too wise or too foolish, too bold or too meek,
Then she found a small clearing surrounded by firs,
And she stopped...and she heard what the trees said to her,
And she sat there for hours not wanting to leave,
For the forest said nothing, it just let her breathe.~

BEING CALM
allows the
mind to find clarity.
Calmness is also a state of trust.
Trust, even when you’re
not sure.
Instead of overthinking and overreacting, surrender…
one moment at a time.
Sit and breathe.
Open your heart and hands
to receive guidance
for what doesn’t make sense.
Our past experiences may dictate how we react to a current situation. Our bodies may tell us that we are being threatened in some way and we swing into protective mode. Take a breath to remember what you already know. Breathe in for 4, hold for 4 and exhale for 4. Repeat until calm. Respond when calm ✌🏾
You got this!
“Solitude is not an absence
of energy or action,
as some believe,
but rather a boon
of wild provisions transmitted
to us from the Soul.
In ancient times, purposeful solitude was both palliative
and preventitive.
It was used to heal fatigue
and to prevent weariness.
It was also used as an oracle,
as a way of listening to the inner
self to solicit advise and guidance otherwise impossible
to hear in the din of daily life.”
~Clarissa Pinkola Estes
While this beach in Costa Rica is one of my favorite for solitude and quiet meditation, where i am, physically, does not determine whether I am able to bring my energy inside and let go of my attachment to external noise. It is a practice just like anything else. There will be days when I resist and struggle and times when I am able to settle right in. I try not to label this experience as “good” or “bad”; I choose to see it as an opportunity for self study.
While the energy of this magical place is magnetic, this same energy lives within me!
If it comes,
let it.
If it goes,
let it.
"You are comprised of 84 minerals, 23 Elements, and 8 gallons of water spread across 38 trillion cells.
You have been built up from nothing by the spare parts of the Earth you have consumed, according to a set of instructions hidden in a double helix and small enough to be carried by a s***m. You are recycled butterflies, plants, rocks, streams, firewood, wolf fur, and shark teeth, broken down to their smallest parts and rebuilt into our planet’s most complex living thing.
You are not living on Earth. You are Earth."
Wisdom from Aubrey Marcus
“Everything we do
is infused with the energy
with which we do it.
If we're frantic,
life will be frantic.
If we're peaceful,
life will be peaceful.
We are the creators
of our own inner peace.”

Happy and Blessed Full Moon to all...
Grandmother Moon is known by many names including Coyolxauhqui (Nahuatl), Ix'Chel (Maya), Neesa (Seneca) Hina (Hawaiian), Mecha Vili (Yaqui), and Hellyaa (Kumeyaay).
Grandmother Moon is the first keeper of time. It is her gentle strength that moves the tides of the oceans and the sacred life-giving potential of the waters in our bodies. That is one of the reasons that women have been entrusted to hold full moon ceremonies and to care for water in all its forms. Respectfully acknowledging that there are other spiritual traditions that have their own ways of honoring the special connection that women have to grandmother moon, tonight many of us that follow Indigenous lifeways will be lighting a sacred fire and making offerings of prayers and songs, including praying over a glass or bowl of water and leave it outdoors to be moon blessed and transformed into medicine....
When we are in this ceremonial heart-space it is important to pray for who and what is near and dear to our hearts: our families, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives, for the children and families in Uvalde, Texas, for the families of the children whose graves continue to be discovered in residential schools, for all people and communities affected by violence and injustice, for Water, for Mother Earth and our relatives in nature, and for ourselves that we may be guided to take action in alignment with our prayers.
May Grandmother Moon's high spiritual light bring you peace and offer you guidance in a way that you will understand; and may our prayers come to fruition with ease and grace.

Advise From the Ocean…
Be "shore" of yourself.
Come out of your shell.
Take time to coast.
Avoid pier pressure.
Sea life's beauty.
Don't get tide down.
Make waves.
There’s something about
being near the ocean
that encourages healing❤️

The breath is the most direct path to access the central nervous system and to create a shift. Use the breath to see where you are and regulate the breath to move from the sympathetic nervous system to the parasympathetic nervous system.
