⚾️ QUICK TIP FOR MORE EFFICIENT THROWING ⚾️

✅Stay athletic, keep your chest over your toes!

❌“Leaning” back too far can create early hip extension, decrease upper/lower body separation, decrease velocity and increase risk of arm injury

Road to 100s!

Bulgarian Squats are a great single squat variation, especially for the rotational athlete where power is being transferred from one side of the body to the other.

They are challenging. It’s a love/hate relationship. Great benefits, but they just suck to do! Those who know, know!

I’m going to join some of our RIZE student athletes in the 100lb challenge! Practice what you preach! Let’s get it. RIZE together!

Throwing Strats to Think About 🧠

If you have ever been told “get your arm/hand UP at footstrike” 🤽‍♂️
try this:

1) Relax! ☯️🙂
-The more tense you are the more your hand will tend you get stuck down low

2) Throw down on the ball
🖐🏼⬆️⚾️⬇️
-You need your hand up to throw the ball down

The First Step💥
We’ve posted on this before, but it is a topic that gets brought up quite a bit in the gym. For baseball athletes, whether you steal bases or not, getting good jumps off the bat on the bases or the field is a game changer!

When on base and leading off, theres a few things to keep in mind in regards to the first step. The center of gravity needs to get over the front foot. This can happen 2 ways or a combination of both.
1. The hips move over the front foot
or
2. The front foot moves under the hips

Unless the athlete is able to time that step perfectly, more often then not, the front foot has to move back.

This is ok! It’s NOT a false step. It’s good. Consider it a plyo step or a reactive step. Lose an inch to gain a powerful angle! The key is to make that step as fast and as quick as possible.

Here’s a few of the guys working on their first step during training this off season.

It’s almost that time of year! Baseball season is right around the corner.

Many of you have been crushing your off season lifts getting ready for spring baseball. A few things will start to happen here…
1. On field activity and games⬆️ 📈
2. Training ⬇️📉

And that’s ok! That’s expected. It’s what we train for.

But…. DO NOT STOP TRAINING! It’s a common mistake young athletes make once season starts.

If you stop training, a few things happen here…
1. Power ⬇️📉
2. Strength ⬇️📉
3. Recovery between games⬇️ 📉
4. Injuries ⬆️📈

In season training is absolutely crucial to performance. On top of assisting in injury prevention and recovery, in season training will help in maintaining muscle mass, strength, and power output! Don’t lose your gains!! Keep RIZE’n.
