💔 CHAMPIONS NIGHT AT GVAT — THIS ONE HURTS.
Heartbreak doesn’t even begin to describe how we felt last night.
After everything this team put into this weekend, watching it end the way it did was absolutely gut-wrenching.
We rolled out of the trailer 13th fastest, but Carter was turning the fastest laps he had all weekend. The field was incredibly tight, with only about .090 separating 13th from 8th.
Carter started 5th in his heat and got bumped back early. But just like he has done all season, he never gave up. He fought his way back to 5th with a last-second pass, earning us a 9th-place starting spot in the A-Main.
We made a few very minor changes and sent him back out.
And man… Carter was FAST.
On the first lap, he picked off two cars before the lap was called back. On the restart, he gained another position and was closing in on the next car when he was driven into the wall.
Just like that, our night was over.
It’s hard not to think about what could have been.
But as disappointing as the ending was, we could not be more proud of our driver.
Carter came to Greenwood Valley for the first time ever. He was driving a car he wasn’t used to. He was running a motor package he wasn’t used to. And he walked into a field filled with some of the best drivers in the country and showed them he belonged.
He didn’t back down.
He didn’t complain.
He didn’t quit.
He fought.
And that’s what means more to us than any trophy ever could.
Last night hurt. Bad. But sometimes the nights that hurt the most are the nights that make you stronger.
We learned more this weekend than we could have imagined. We learned about the track, the car, the competition, and most importantly, we learned more about ourselves as a race team.
Carter will be back.
This isn’t the end of the story. It’s another chapter.
We’ll take the heartbreak. We’ll take the lessons. We’ll go back to work.
And we’ll come back hungrier than ever. 🏁
